When decisions keep returning to the founder, Paul looks for missing clarity before blaming capability. Ownership strengthens when the decision boundary is visible and consistently respected. Remove one unnecessary approval from this week's workflow.

If every decision still finds its way back to the founder, authority has not really moved.
Map four decision modes: inform, recommend, decide and escalate. Assign each recurring decision to one mode so the team knows what they own, when they need input and when an issue must come back to you.
Use this in your next leadership meeting and remove one unnecessary approval.

A team cannot own an outcome if every meaningful choice still needs founder approval. Real delegation defines the decision, the guardrails and the point where escalation is genuinely required. Identify one task you have delegated without transferring authority.

A stronger business should need less of the founder, not more.
That does not happen overnight. It takes better systems, clear ownership and leaders who can make decisions without waiting for you to step in.
Start small. Choose one responsibility you are still holding and give someone else the ownership, authority and support to take it forward.

Score your business across recurring demand, customer diversification, documented delivery, leadership depth and predictable cash flow.
The weakest score often reveals where risk or founder dependence may be limiting enterprise value.
Save the scorecard and rate each area from one to five. Where does your business need the most attention?

Revenue shows that people want what you sell. But building a business with lasting value takes more than strong sales.
It needs consistent delivery, healthy margins, loyal customers and a leadership team that can keep things moving without you.
If everything slows down when you step away, the business still depends too heavily on your daily presence.
Ask yourself: what would continue creating value if you were not involved every day?

The business should not succeed at the expense of the person building it.
Paul’s message to founders is simple: Wealth, Business and Life are not separate projects. Every decision in one area affects the others, and lasting progress happens when all three move forward together.
The goal is not more for the sake of more. It is building a future with greater freedom, choice and control.
