We set up a sensory box with slime at the table so that our toddlers and preschoolers can get an opportunity to explore the world around through their senses. Moreover, it supports the children's language
development when the children exposed to descriptive vocabularies such as soft, hard, squishy. 💯

Our preschoolers spend the morning working on their fine motor skills. Play dough also encourages creativity and enhances hand-eye coordination. 💯

Our Preschoolers started their morning by learning about Fire Safety, role of firefighters and differentiating various equipments involved in keeping us safe. 👨‍🚒

This week we have been learning about Fire Safety and Rescue. Children are able to understand what firefighters do when there is a fire and what we as an individual can do to minimise the harm along with reinforcing fire safety rules by engaging in various fun activities. 🔥

Playing with shaving foam is an easy and fun sensory play activity. It provides children with the opportunity to make marks, develop fine motor skills and build strength in their fingers and hands. 🙌

Our preschoolers are fascinated with learning about Animal Habitat lately. Being responsible for the care of an animal helps children develop these skills, while also teaching them about nature, ecology and the importance of caring for the environment. Children can truly thrive when allowed opportunities to explore natural environments and interactions with animals.🦒

Dumplings are eaten during Chinese New Year which are filled with meat and are eaten to usher in wealth and good luck for the New Year. 🏮🧧

Through assisting with cooking, children practice their measuring skills and fine motor skills through folding the dumplings 🥟 and explore how mixing food together changes the flavour and texture. Cooking helps build basic skills such as counting, measuring and encourages children to try different foods as well as help children explore their senses such as the different scents, different taste and different textures when food is combined together. 🥟

We welcomed Chinese New Year by learning the history of why we celebrate the occasion and by baking a coconut sticky cake called “Nian Gao” which sounds like “high year” symbolising growth throughout the year and represents prosperity.🧧

Using calendar, exploring concepts of time, weather and linking time with events helps children to be aware of how events reoccur at specific times during the month or a year and make them aware about their environment and the world around them 📅

Nothing can beat sunbath and story time. It promotes brain development and imagination, develops language and emotions, and strengthens relationships. Sometimes we can read and sometimes we can look at picture books, sing songs or tell stories. 📚
