Hello GTHS Class of 2002!
It has been 20 years (+1) since we all sat the HSC (or left prior to Year 12). Two decades!!! Hasn’t time flown by?! We were all mostly 17 or 18… here we are mostly as 38 or 39 year olds! We are either Mums, Dads, Aunties, Uncles and so on… Careers, Mortgages, Kids and all that comes with age…
And so comes the tradition of a High School Reunion. One that we are long overdue for. I thought about this long and hard last year, but with no end of Covid-19 in sight, delayed plans until now!
It’s time we had our 20-Year High School Reunion, so all of us amazing GTHS Class of 2002 can catch up, mingle, talk about life, meet each other’s families, and find out all that has happened these past two decades and a bit!
I have reached out to a small number of our fellow “GTHS2002” cohort, and so far it’s a keen plan that appears to be getting good support and the go ahead.
I am hoping to set something up for later this year, either in the hall or close by (IE. Tradies, etc… wow, that place brings back memories). I have spoken with admin at our old school earlier this year and so far the hall is a no go, however this was on account of Covid-19 concerns.
Over the coming days, I’ll be sending more and more of our group this message and see who is interested in attending or not. Of course, I know it will be hard for some people to attend, however if we need to fix up the date, time or location to make it work as best as possible, I’ll try to sort something out. And those that are not in Australia, we might be able to figure a video link etc.
Let me know your thoughts, the more the merrier. It would be GREAT to see everyone, it really has been a long time since we had our last Class photo… (that’s one idea!) We could even reach out to our former teachers (or not) such as: Cassidy, Haistie, Ramsay, Newman, Edwards, Murray, Olshen, Gardner, Wright, Hook, and more…
