Years 3,4 and 5 students went to Davidson
High School recently to learn about biomimicry - which means copying life. A wonderful science in action excursion and a credit to the Year 9 mentors.

A summary of the incursion, written by Year 3 attendees:
At the Hello Dingo incursion, real dingoes visited our school, and we had the chance to pat them. Their names were Flynn and Bindi—Flynn enjoys being patted, while Bindi is a bit shy around people. The instructor, Rob, taught us that dingoes are endangered and need our protection. Dingoes are apex predators and play a crucial role in the food chain by controlling populations of feral cats and other unwelcome animals. If we don’t act soon, dingoes could become extinct in Australia.

🪐 Welcome to BASA 🚀

Last week Stage 3 welcomed investors (aka family & friends) into the ‘Belrose Aeronautical & Space Administration’ to showcase their LEGO robotic rovers designed to help research in space.

A huge thank you to our Stage 3 teachers who brought this project to life and to students who showed such dedication to designing, creating, coding and marketing their projects.

We ❤️ Kimbriki!

Stage 1 students had a fun and interesting excursion to the Kimbriki Eco House and Recycling Plant. The students learned about how to look after the environment by reusing, reducing, repurposing and recycling.

At the Eco House, they saw ways to make homes
friendly to the environment. On our bus tour around the recycling plant, students watched how rubbish gets sorted and recycled.

The excursion helped students understand why
recycling and caring for the environment are
important. Thank you to Kimbriki for teaching our
students and making learning about sustainability
enjoyable!

Racing into Term 3 with our Athletics Carnival last week!

Our morning session showed amazing participation from so many students enjoying and competing in track and field events, followed by a healthy balance of competition and fun (parent relay included!) for our infants.

A huge thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped support our teachers on the day.
