We are an elite small-group math tutoring academy. Classes are level-based and consist of up to five students per group. One-on-one tutoring is also available.
We offer math lessons for students from Year 1 to Year 12, including OC/Selective School preparation classes, general classes, and HSC Ext 1, Ext 2, and Advanced classes. For students in Year 1 to Year 10, lessons are taught by Ms. Mona, who has over 10 years of experience as a certified middle/school teacher in Korea and as a math instructor in Australia. π€ Todayβs 2026 Korean CSAT Maths Question 24 (3 points)
turned out to beβ¦
π 100% identical β not a single word different β to a question from the Sydney Boys High Trial (Aug 2025)! π±β¨
At The Hakwon, we had already reviewed this exact question in class as a βhigh-quality HSC practice problem,β and it showed up exactly on the Korean CSAT today! π¦πΊβ‘οΈπ°π·
π‘π How is this possible?
Because The Hakwon constantly monitors top-tier maths problems from around the world and adapts them into HSC-style premium materials for our students.
This means our students get to experience
π βCSAT-level quality problems even while preparing for the HSC.β
ππ A very exciting day for us!
It's amazing to see Australian exam-style questions being βexportedβ all the way to Korea. Itβs also a great confirmation that The Hakwonβs teaching approach is truly on the right track.
And weβll keep going:
π even more thorough,
π even more global,
π even more genuinely helpful for our students!

π This Monday afternoonβs HSC Math Extension 1 exam featured a 4-mark gem π β a binomial distribution question! And guess what? Just by sketching the graph, the whole thing falls into place π¨π.
As we always say: when it comes to binomial β normal distributions, the bell curve π is your ultimate visual weapon. It turns every tricky problem into something crystal clear β your unshakable reference point π§.
And hiding inside all this? The mighty Central Limit Theorem β‘. Think of it like airport βοΈ or harbour β security: you donβt need to check every single bag. Just sample a few, and you can still keep everything safe β
. Thatβs the math magic at work! π₯

π― The easiest 4-mark question in HSC history! π Wanna give it a shot? πβοΈπ₯ [2025 HSC advanced] Q23 4 marks
For like 99% of normal distribution problems π, just sketch that bell curve ππ and boom π₯the answer pops out! The ultimate hack π§ π‘? Always, always draw the bell shape π―β
.
Donβt forget it, or youβll miss the easiest marks of your life ππ₯π.
π Statistics is the βnew kid on the blockβ compared to calculus and algebra βοΈββ, and itβs also the subject that pops up everywhere in real life π.
No matter what group you look at π₯, most people huddle around the average π
, while only a few are out on the extremes π€―.
Statistics takes this common-sense idea and turns it into numbers π’, giving companies the tools π’πΌ to make profit-maximising decisions π°π‘.
The heart of the normal distribution β€οΈ is sketching that bell shape ππ. Variance just tells you how far things are spread out from the mean β‘οΈβοΈ.
This question is basically asking: Out of 100 people, how heavy do you need to be to make it into the βfatβ top 2.5%? ππ Well, 2.5% lives about 2 standard deviations above the mean βοΈπ.
Since the SD is 6.8 kg βοΈ and the mean is 76.2 kg, we move up 2 steps: π 76.2+2Γ6.8=89.8kg.
So yeahβ¦ those sheep you thought were just cute ππ? Theyβre actually way heavier than youβd expect πͺπ
!
