We are a company of professional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers. We are storytellers. We are fire makers.

Tonight, we welcome audiences to Wurundjeri Country for our Community First Performance of Sheltering at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Before the show, join us for a 'pre-show yarn' with select company dancers and complimentary tea and coffee; a unique and personal gathering before the curtain rises. We recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes before your performance starts to allow enough time to enter the venue and be seated in the theatre.

We look forward to welcoming our Community to the theatre this evening as we explore the intricate bonds between people and place.

Possibility, purpose, pride. Supporting Bangarra opens up opportunities for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Company dancer Amberlilly Gordon reflects on her time with our Rekindling youth program – and how that sparked a fire that led her to performing with Bangarra today.

We welcome you to join us on this journey and become a part of our story.

Tonight we share our final performance of Sheltering on Gadigal land at the Sydney Opera House. As this season comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our community and to every audience member who has joined us for this powerful season. Together, we have gathered in reflection, connection and storytelling, exploring the intricate bonds between people and place, and the ways we are held by Country and by one another. Thank you for being part of our Sydney season and for joining us in this shared experience of story, movement and connection.

We look forward to sharing Sheltering with audiences at Arts Centre Melbourne from 18 June and QPAC from 9 July.

Looking back to last week, when we gathered on Gadigal land to open Sheltering at the Sydney Opera House. Opening night was a powerful moment to come together and witness our program of three moving stories come to life in the Joan Sutherland Theatre. An evening of honouring our connection to Country and celebrating the enduring strength of First Nations storytelling.
