🐷 Our Farming Animals Journey Comes to Life! 🌾
This week at Morning Star Christian Childcare, our children completed a very special group project — creating their very own paper mache pig!
Over the past two weeks, the children have been exploring a variety of farming animals such as cows, horses, and pigs. Through hands-on experiences like painting, crafting, dramatic play, and even “milking the cow,” they developed a deeper understanding of life on the farm.
To bring all their learning together, the children worked collaboratively to create a large paper mache pig. They carefully tore paper, dipped it into paste, and layered it onto balloons to form the shape. Once dried, they painted their pig with great excitement and pride.
Throughout this process, the children learned so much more than just art:
✨ Teamwork and cooperation
✨ Patience and persistence
✨ Fine motor skills and creativity
✨ Confidence in expressing their ideas
It was wonderful to see how engaged and proud the children were as their project came to life. Experiences like this help children connect their learning in meaningful and memorable ways.
We are so proud of what they have achieved together! 💛
🌟 Stay tuned as we look forward to another exciting week of learning and discovery ahead!

On Wednesday at Morning Star Christian Childcare, our children explored an exciting science experiment about water density 💧
Through a hands-on activity, the children investigated what happens when salt is added to water. They carefully mixed the salt, observed the changes, and discovered how the density of water can affect whether objects sink or float.
Throughout the experience, the children actively participated by measuring, stirring, and experimenting with different amounts of salt. They showed great curiosity and engagement, asking questions and making their own predictions about what might happen next.
This activity supported the development of early scientific thinking, encouraging children to explore cause and effect, make observations, and build problem-solving skills. It also strengthened fine motor skills and concentration as they carefully handled tools and materials.
In addition, the children worked alongside their peers, sharing ideas and learning from each other. These collaborative moments help build communication skills, confidence, and a love for learning.
It was wonderful to see the excitement on their faces as they discovered new concepts through play. Experiences like this inspire children to become curious learners in a supportive and engaging environment.
At Morning Star Christian Childcare, we create meaningful learning experiences that combine exploration, creativity, and real-world understanding.

On Monday at Morning Star Christian Childcare, our children enjoyed a fun and engaging creative experience by making their very own horse masks 🐴
Throughout the activity, the children were involved in every step — from colouring and decorating their masks, to carefully cutting and assembling the pieces. They explored different colours, made their own design choices, and expressed their creativity in unique and meaningful ways.
This hands-on experience supported the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration, especially as the children practised using scissors with increasing confidence. It also encouraged independence, as they followed each step and completed their own creations.
In addition, the activity created opportunities for social interaction, with children sharing materials, observing each other’s work, and engaging in conversations about their ideas. These moments help build communication skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging within the group.
Most importantly, it was wonderful to see the children so focused, engaged, and proud of what they had created. Experiences like this allow children to learn through play while developing important life skills in a warm and supportive environment.
At Morning Star Christian Childcare, we believe every learning experience should be meaningful, enjoyable, and inspiring for every child.

We’re continuing to share more engaging learning experiences from our centre 🌱
This time, we’re looking back at one of our experiences from April 2026, where the children explored farming animals, with a focus on cows.
The children participated in creative activities by making their own cow crafts and learning about the features of farm animals. They also engaged in a hands-on “milking cow” experience, where they were able to simulate the process of milking and observe how it works.
Through this combination of art, sensory play, and role play, the children developed their fine motor skills, curiosity, and understanding of the world around them.
It was wonderful to see the children actively involved, exploring, and learning through play in such a meaningful way.

Continuing our Easter celebrations, we explored another meaningful hands-on experience at our centre ✨
The children participated in making cross-shaped biscuits, connecting their learning to the Easter story in a simple and meaningful way. They were involved in mixing, shaping, and observing the baking process, which made the experience both fun and engaging.
Through this activity, the children further developed their fine motor skills, patience, and understanding of following simple steps in cooking.
To make the experience even more special, the children placed their biscuits into their own handmade bags and took them home to share with their families. This created a lovely opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom and connect with their families.
It was heartwarming to see the children take pride in their creations and enjoy sharing their learning with others.

We’re continuing to share more meaningful learning moments from our centre 🌿
This time, we’re looking back at one of our experiences from March 2026, where the children participated in an Easter excursion.
As part of the experience, the children created their own donkey and palm tree crafts, while also being introduced to the Easter story in a simple and age-appropriate way. Through storytelling, they learned about the meaning behind Easter and some of the key ideas connected to it.
We then went on a group walk to the park, where the children carried their creations and enjoyed time together outdoors.
Through this excursion, the children explored storytelling, creativity, and connection to nature. It also supported their physical development, confidence, and social interaction as they walked together, played, and shared the experience with their peers.
It was a joyful and meaningful day, filled with learning, movement, and connection.
