I’m currently helping a client transition out of one industry into a totally different one. It’s totally possible thanks to their wonderful transferable skills.
Transferable skills are skills you learn in one job that you can apply in other environments - things like dealing with customer complaints, coaching, process and system improvements, and administration.
So, if you want to change, you can! Just make your transferable skills the heroes of your new resume.

"Sue is brilliant! She was recommended to me via a friend who found her dream job after using Sue's services and I was lucky enough to do the same. After 17 years in the same company my CV required a big shake up and Sue provided unwavering guidance and support and really listened to me, resulting in a resume that I was confident and proud to present to future employers. Sue really understands the market place in all industries and has a unique flare for copywriting and digging deep into skillsets to ensure your resume truly represents what you really have to offer. I had some very positive feedback from the companies I was applying to regarding my resume, how well it read and how it helped them paint a concise picture of my professional offerings. I can't recommend Sue enough."

I have had quite a few enquiries recently from women heading back into the workplace, so I thought I would share this advice more widely...
Whether you are tackling your own resume update or using a professional like me, your starting point has to be a JOB DESCRIPTION.
Writing a resume without first knowing exactly what your target roles are looking for is like planning a journey without knowing the destination!
So here's my advice...
Check out the jobseeker sites and find some roles (doesn't matter where they are based) that fit with what you want to do next.
Analyse these job descriptions and make a list of the expertise, skills, and experience they are looking for. This list is your roadmap for writing your new resume.
Keep checking back to this list as you write to make sure you are hitting all of those key requirements.
Or, send these roles to your resume writer so they can analyse the detail and use it in drafting your documents.
Hope this helps!
Sue

Need a new resume? First you need a job description. How can you show the recruiter you are THE ONE if you don't know exactly what they are looking for. Look online for advertised jobs in your field as a guide or, better still, find one that you want to apply for. Now you are ready for a new resume!
