One of the key aspects of the Kumon program is "Standard Completion Time", which ensures that a student completes work within a designated range of time.

Many students can complete work, but the efficiency with which one can do it, sets apart a Kumon student ;-)

Have you ever been curious to know what Kumon Standard Completion Time is?

This is the time range in which students should complete their daily worksheet study as they progress through their Kumon levels. This time range also includes time taken for corrections, ensuring 100% for every worksheet.

This is one of the key indicators Kumon Instructors use to gain more insight into your child’s learning. Therefore, when studying in centre or at home, it is so important that your child always writes the start and finish time on every worksheet set.

Throughout this time of changed circumstances, we would like all Kumon families and their students to know that we are available for communication at anytime :-)

Please email [email protected] or
Call/msg to 0411-340-999

Your Kumon Instructor will regularly communicate with you about your child’s study progress. Should you have any questions at all for your Instructor, please do not hesitate to contact them.

Thank you for all the support you have offered so far to help your child make progress in their learning.

The fluency and speed with which a student can complete work is important - thus logging the times help assess the progress accurately :-)

Do you know what Kumon Standard Completion Time is?

Standard Completion Time is the time range in which a student should accurately complete their worksheet sets as they progress through the levels.

This is a key indicator Kumon Instructors use to have more insight on your child’s learning, even while your child studies at home. This is why it is important that students always write the start and finish time on their worksheet set.

Dear Kumon Students and Families,

At Kumon, our first priority is the health and welfare of all students, staff and parents.

Kumon centres are still open. However, if schools close to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, Kumon is ready to go to home-based study until schools reopen.

This is to comply with health authority advice and government regulations.

Worksheets can be provided from your centre for the duration of the school closures, so your child’s learning is not interrupted.

Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil and paper programme. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own.

It is ideal for extended periods at home.

For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct their errors.

Kumon Instructors can effectively manage communication with families through a variety of electronic means.

Continued daily worksheet study at home will ensure that disruption to your child’s progress and learning is minimised. We hope it is reassuring to know your child’s Kumon programme can continue during this period.

Please contact your Kumon centre for details and to make arrangements now. Procedures at each centre will vary during this period.

Kumon Willoughby would like to assure all students, parents and families of our centre that all assistants/students of Willoughby Girls High School are strictly adhering to the advice of self-quarantining until Tuesday 10th March 2020.

We shall monitor the advice provided to us by Kumon Australia and governing authorities, on a day-to-day basis.

Our primary concern is for the welfare of all who attend our centre.

Classes will go ahead today, Monday 9th March at our usual time.

Any parents who wish to have work posted to them can request so and we are more than happy to accommodate.

The sensitive balance between appropriate vigilant risk management and excessive concern is a tricky one, especially in this era of (over)information.

Anyone with concerns, questions and alternative arrangements are welcome to make contact.

This msg will also be sent in duplicate to all families.

Thank you
Eddie Kim

NSW to make maths mandatory for students in years 11 and 12 29/10/2019

.... Numeracy is a LIFE skill - whilst not everyone may be a 'numbers person' or 'maths person', there is no doubting that Maths is present in our everyday lives.
By forming a solid foundation in Numeracy (as well as Literacy!), every individual is equipped with the tools to learn any discipline they choose :-)

NSW to make maths mandatory for students in years 11 and 12 The NSW government will make maths mandatory for students in year 11 and 12, but has stopped short of requiring it for the HSC.

.... ALL student families of Kumon Willoughby will be provided with individualized feedback in the coming weeks on the progress made in 2019, and more importantly the possibilities for 2020.

A critical part of the momentum is to keep up strong habits (as much as possible) during the summer holidays :-)

Do you know how your child has progressed this year through Kumon?

Remember, it’s how far they’ve come and what’s still possible that counts. Contact your Instructor to discuss your child’s progress this year and their goals for 2020.
