This year during the summer break I am offering "Ready, Set, Go!" Sessions for students going from Primary school to High School AND Year 10 into Year 11. The focus will be on English.

For Year 6 into 7 I will help your child be ready fro the High School demands of English. These are 45 minute sessions and can either be done individually or get a group together and I can run a group session.

For Year 10 into 11 we will focus on getting ready for the first Yr 11 Common Module Reading to Write. We look at Imaginative, Discursive and Persuasive writing. I'll demystify the Reflection writing. We will do some textual analysis of short texts to ensure they are competitive with the analysis involved in Senior English.

Super flexible with times for December and January.

Most sessions are on Zoom.

I'm a high school English/History/Society and culture teacher who also does writing with upper Primary School kids to get them ready for Naplan and to build the foundations and confidence to be High School ready. With the little ones I revise language techniques they need to use in their writing and fill any gaps in thwir knowledge. These need constant revision because it's not usually til year 8 that kids are super confident with identifying and using these techniques intentionally.

This was a little something I facilitated to write. They have just finished Year 4 and is about to start Year 5 in 2023. The beautiful part is they don't realise that each sentence I get them to write is going to form a poem. I love when it comes together by the end of the session. They feel confident after they realise writing is tricky but they have written something and it was not as hard as they thought.

Im running holiday sessions if anyone is keen on writing for upper primary to junior high school. (I also tutor HSC subjects).

From the first week of January Hannah will be running sessions again. Some students have chosen to continue during the holidays, others have booked in for particular skill building workshops such as essay and creative writing. Senior students will continue with their PIPs for Society and Culture. English HSC students are also continuing to revise, build skills and cover content to be ready for 2022.

Given the new mask rule all sessions will be via Zoom until January 27th. We will reassess this as new information comes to hand and the government provides further guidance. Some local students like to have face to face sessions, these will recommence when masks are not mandated indoors for non residential businesses.
