Coriah Keatings capped off the Rising Star Series with a clinical victory in the 16th and final heat at Hawkesbury on Thursday, March 26.
Keatings timed her run perfectly to seize the finale, but the day’s biggest celebration belonged to someone on the sidelines.
Despite not securing a ride in the last heat, Goulburn apprentice Dale Cole was officially crowned the 2025/26 Rising Star Series champion. His dominant summer form—headlined by back-to-back wins at Orange (15 Dec) and Bathurst (23 Dec)—earned him 25 points, a tally that remained untouchable as the series concluded.
Rebecca Bronnett-Prag, another dual heat winner at Wagga (31 Oct) and Shoalhaven (22 Jan), is the series runner-up with 22 points.

Olivia Chambers has put the competition on notice after a clinical victory in Heat 15 at Warwick Farm this Wednesday11 March. Since its inception in 2000, the Racing NSW Rising Star Series has served as a premier launchpad for aspiring apprentice jockeys, with its honour roll featuring elite talents such as Sam Clipperton, Andrew Adkins, Mikayla Weir, Jenny Duggan, and Jasper Franklin. As we look toward the grand finale, the pressure is firmly on current leader Dale Cole. While he maintains his position at the top with 25 points, his lead has shortened to a precarious margin. The battle for the title will be decided in the final Heat, scheduled for Hawkesbury on Thursday, 26 March. With only six points separating the top three contenders, the 2025/26 crown is well and truly up for grabs.

February Highlights!

Siena Grima secured a thrilling victory in Heat 14 of the Rising Star Series at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, 4 March, guiding the Annabel and Rob Archibald-trained Autumn Dream to first place.
Despite Grima’s success in the latest leg, Dale Cole continues to hold his position at the top of the overall leaderboard as the competition enters its final stages.
With only two opportunities remaining to collect points—at Kensington on 11 March and Hawkesbury on 26 March—the race for the series title remains high-stakes as the apprentices look to chase down Cole’s lead.

Apprentice jockey Claire Ramsbotham secured her first victory in the Rising Star Series at Wagga on 16 February, piloting Think I Do to win Heat 13 of the competition.
Competing for trainers Barbara Joseph, Paul, and Matt Jones, Ramsbotham held off Ella Bent on Cayman Island to take the top spot.
Despite Ramsbotham's success, series leader Dale Cole managed to extend his overall lead in the series, finishing third in the same heat aboard Taumata for trainer Tim Donnelly.
The competition now moves toward its next stage, with Warwick Farm scheduled to host Heat 14 of the Rising Star Series on 4 March.
