𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁 ❤️

Today, we'd like to address the top three misconceptions about meditation that distracts us from grounding deeply into the practice.

The three misconceptions to overcome are:

1. Meditation is about not thinking and having a blank mind 🤯
2. Meditation is difficult and uncomfortable 👎
3. Meditation is boring and useless 🥱

I hope to clear these three points in this short video so we can all enjoy the practice of mindfulness and meditation in our daily lives 😊🙏

𝟯 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻

In my years of teaching mindfulness to children and encouraging them to meditate, here are the top 3 things I learnt.

1. 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 😨😡
Children tend to experience great emotional swings, from immense joy and excitement, down to crippling nervousness and even anger. Mindfulness offers a way to moderate these emotional swings, so they can immediately acknowledge their feelings and emotions as they arise, to respond in a more healthy way.

2. 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 🧠
Children these days are exposed to a wide variety of distractions from social media, to gaming, to cartoons and movies. When it comes time to study, they often are unable to reel in their attention and concentrate on their work. Mindfulness develops a focused mind that can pay attention for longer periods at a time.

3. 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 😊
In my experience, children who have some kind of mindfulness practice have greater emotional control and a more positive mindset which breeds gratitude. This allows them to naturally possess a more elevated state of mind that is is happier and more joyful.

Because of these three lessons, I strongly believe that mindfulness practice can greatly benefit the health and wellbeing of all children.
