📣Last week our Duke of Ed Gold participants set out to explore the stunning Jindabyne region, discovering some of Australia’s most remarkable landscapes and learning opportunities.

Their journey took them from the Deep Space Communication Complex in Canberra to hiking Dead Horse Gap through to Thredbo. They also experienced the magic of the Yarrangobilly Caves and thermal pool before finishing with a reflective walk through the National Arboretum Canberra. 👟

💐A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Longworth for her outstanding leadership and unwavering support of our students and the Duke of Ed program. ✨

🙌As we mark National Reconciliation Week, our College reflected on the shared responsibility we all have in building a better future.

Today, we proudly highlight one of our own - Declan Gavan (Graduated 2024), who has been offered the position of Indigenous Student Ambassador for UTS while pursuing his Electrical Engineering degree.

Declan’s journey is a powerful example of leadership, culture and commitment in action. Congratulations Declan. 👏

🙌Our College recognised National Reconciliation Week by exploring this year’s theme, ‘ALL IN’, which reminds us that reconciliation requires action from everyone.

💛🧡Students learnt about the importance of stepping off the sidelines, showing respect, and helping create a culturally safe and inclusive school community.

✨The library featured a Rainbow Serpent display from our Yarn and Learn group, along with colouring sheets, Aboriginal artefacts, First Nations books, and a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games such as Yarning cards, “Who am I?” cards, and bush tucker cards to deepen cultural understanding and connection to Country.

💐Thank you to Ms Boylan for creating such a valauble experience for our students.

💛This Friday 29 May, our College will proudly participate in ‘Wear It Yellow Day’ as part of National Reconciliation Week.

Students are encouraged to wear a touch of yellow - socks, ribbons, accessories, anything bright and cheerful and bring along a gold coin donation.

🙌All funds raised will support the Catholic Education Foundation Indigenous Bursaries, helping create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

✨Let’s come together, show our support and walk the path of reconciliation as a community.

📈Our Year 12 Economics students had an incredible opportunity attending the UBS HSC Economics Day at the Wesley Conference Centre in Sydney.

Throughout the day, students engaged with leading economists and industry professionals, deepening their understanding of key syllabus areas such as fiscal policy, the global economy, Australia’s economic position, the Federal Budget, and monetary policy.

🗒✏While Ross Gittins was unable to attend, we were fortunate to hear from journalist Millie Muroi, who provided valuable insights into the 2026 Federal Budget and current economic conditions.

In a time of global uncertainty and domestic volatility, this experience allowed students to connect classroom theory with real-world economic issues, equipping them with a broader and more contemporary perspective.

🙌A wonderful day of learning, inspiration, and future-focused thinking - well done to all students for their enthusiasm and engagement!
