On this day 20 years ago at around 10:45pm (8:45am in NY) hundreds of New York firefighters along with other emergency services were starting to make their way to the World Trade Center in New York, after a plane crashed into the north tower and then a second plane hit the south tower. As thousands of people where evacuating the two towers, hundreds of firefighters were heading into help. Sadly 2,763 people died that day at the World Trade Center in New York, that included 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 New York City police officers and 37 Port Authority police officers.
We will never forget those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 at World Trade Center New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.
Though blurred eyes we find the strength and courage to soar beyond the moment. We look forward to the future knowing we can never forget the past.
