Which qualification actually comes next?

Australia’s qualifications are organised through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), with levels ranging from AQF 1 to AQF 10.

Understanding where each qualification sits can make study progression much clearer, from Certificates and Diplomas through to Bachelor’s, Graduate Certificates, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.

At TIIS, we offer higher education qualifications across AQF Levels 7, 8 and 9, including Bachelor’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Master’s Degrees.

The right study progression should build on what you have already learned and support where you want to go next.

R U OK? Day is held every year on the second Thursday in September, reminding everyone to check in with the people around them and start meaningful conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

Last week, although a little later than the official date, our Sydney campus came together for our own R U OK? Day activity.

Through interactive activities, conversation prompts and messages of encouragement, students and staff had the opportunity to connect, check in with one another and learn more about the support available within the TIIS community.

Because asking “R U OK?” is not just for one day. It is a conversation worth having all year round.

What happened last Friday night at TIIS Melbourne campus???

Our soon-to-be graduates came together for one more celebration before their big day, with good food, games, plenty of laughs, and a chance to look back on the journey that brought them here.

A simple night, but a special one for our Melbourne campus graduands as they get ready to close one chapter of their life as an international student.

Another GolangSyd meetup at TIIS! 💻🚀

We were pleased to welcome the GolangSyd community back to our Sydney campus for their August meetup, following their first meetup at TIIS in July.

GolangSyd is a community for people interested in Go which is the programming language developed by Google. They regularly brings together developers, tech professionals and enthusiasts for meetups and knowledge sharing.

One thing we particularly loved seeing at this meetup was two TIIS students attending and connecting with the wider tech community. 🙌

Opportunities like these are a great reminder that learning and professional development can happen beyond the classroom. Meeting people in the industry, discovering new communities and simply being part of conversations happening in your field can all be valuable parts of the student experience.

A big thank you to Katie Fry and everyone in the GolangSyd community for choosing TIIS as a meetup space once again. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Did you know there’s a buried river underneath Sydney’s C*D?*👀

It’s called the Tank Stream, and it was once one of the main sources of fresh water for the early colony.

Today, most people walking through central Sydney probably have no idea that this historic waterway is hidden beneath the streets.

It's one of those Sydney facts that makes you look at the city a little differently — because underneath all the buildings, roads and shops is a completely different layer of Sydney's history.

So next time you're walking through the C*D, remember… there’s a whole piece of Sydney hiding underneath you. 👀
