🍜 TIIS Campus Food Diaries — Episode 2!

Studying in Sydney means there are plenty of places to explore when you need a break from assignments and classes.

For Episode 2 of our Campus Food Diaries, we’re checking out another food spot near our Sydney campus — perfect for grabbing a bite with friends and discovering some of the local food scene around TIIS.

Because sometimes the best part of campus life is figuring out where you're going to eat after class. 😂

Would you add this place to your student food list?

Sometimes being a “nice person” can quietly turn into people-pleasing.

You say yes because you don't want to disappoint someone.

You apologise even when you haven't done anything wrong.

You overthink your messages because you're worried about how they'll be received.

You put everyone else's needs first and tell yourself it's easier that way.

And because these behaviours can feel so normal, it's easy to mistake people-pleasing for simply being kind or considerate.

But there's a difference between caring about other people and constantly ignoring your own needs to keep everyone happy.

Learning to set boundaries, say no and be honest about what you actually want doesn't make you selfish.

It just means you're making space for yourself too.

Be honest… which people-pleasing habit do you relate to most? 👀

Money or passion? 💰❤️

It's one of those career questions that sounds simple… until you actually have to make the decision.

Do you choose the career with better earning potential, even if it's not something you're passionate about?

Or do you prioritise doing something you genuinely enjoy, even if it might not pay as much?

And then there are all the things in between, job security, work-life balance, career growth, lifestyle and the opportunities a career can give you.

There probably isn't a universal right answer. What matters is finding a balance that works for the life you actually want.

So, if you had to choose today:

💰 Money
❤️ Passion

Which one are you picking?

Welcome to a brand new semester at TIIS! 🎉

It was wonderful to welcome our newest students to Orientation Day and help them take the first step in their university journey.

Throughout the session, students met members of our academic team, learned how to access our online learning platforms, gained an understanding of how the semester is structured, and discovered opportunities to get involved through our Student Ambassador Program.

There was also plenty of time to ask questions, meet fellow students, and end the day with a fun Kahoot quiz.

We hope everyone left feeling informed, supported, and excited for the semester ahead. Welcome to the TIIS community—we're looking forward to seeing you grow, learn, and succeed.

If your phone suddenly made a loud siren sound today, don't worry, it was just a test.

Today, the Australian Government conducted a nationwide test of AusAlert, Australia's new emergency warning system, which will officially launch later this year.

AusAlert is designed to send urgent warnings directly to compatible mobile devices during emergencies such as bushfires, floods, severe weather, and other major incidents. The test helps ensure the system works as intended and familiarises people with what a real emergency alert will look and sound like.

If you received today's alert, no action was required. It was simply a nationwide test.

For more information about AusAlert, visit ausalert.gov.au.

The words we use when talking to ourselves can shape how we approach challenges, learning, and growth.

A simple change in perspective won't solve every problem, but it can make difficult situations feel more manageable and encourage us to keep moving forward.

Our latest carousel shares a few mindset shifts that may help you navigate university and personal growth with greater confidence.

Which mindset shift stood out to you the most?
