Italian Film Festival Excursion
On Monday 7th September, after school the Year 11 and 12 Italian Beginners students went to Palace Cinemas Leichhardt to attend the Italian Film Festival. The students watched the Italian film
"Incanto" .The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the delicious dinner of pasta and pizza at Bar Italia or Aperitivo before the film.
This event organised yearly for our seniors is a valuable and engaging learning experience.
Grazie to the many Profs who attended: Miss Pereira, Mrs krsticBaroni, Mrs Hurley, Ms Laureti and our beautiful Language Assistants, Carla Spinello and Gemma Gensini.

Last week, we took a moment to celebrate the outgoing SRC who gave their time, energy, and heart to the Freeman community. Your dedication shaped countless memories, initiatives, and positive change. Thank you Daniel and Mia our School Leaders and Zara and Andrew our Vice Captains for leading with passion and purpose, along with the entire SRC.

Conference Tennis Gala Day Success

It has been a fantastic couple of weeks of tennis for our students, with our girls competing last week and our boys taking to the courts this week.

Year 11 Hospitality students participated in last week's World Skills Cookery Competition at St Joseph's Trade Skill Centre, demonstrating high-level proficiency, professionalism and composure throughout a series of industry standard culinary tasks. Their performance reflected strong preparation and a commendable commitment to excellence. We congratulate Maryam, Alyssia, Trish and Alexia on proudly representing Freeman at this event. #

Artistic Excellence at Freeman

We were thrilled to welcome Josh McPherson, Sydney Catholic Schools’ Artist in Residence, to Freeman for an inspiring two days of creativity. Josh led a hands-on portrait workshop with all of our Year 7 students and Elective 9 Visual Arts and the results were impressive.

Throughout the two days, students learnt about the technical world of contemporary painting and worked through three stages of their artistic process:

Underpainting: Establishing the foundation and structure of their portraits.
Colour Mixing: Mastering the art of creating the perfect palette for their subject.
Initial Painting: Bringing their visions to life on paper..

The workshops helped students prepare for their upcoming portrait assessment and top entries may also be submitted to the ‘Freeman Archie’ and 'Young Archie' competition at the Art Gallery of NSW.

A huge thank you to Josh for sharing his expertise and passion with us.

A honourable recognition to our College Sport Leader Sofia, who advanced through the School Sport pathways from the Freeman Swimming carnival all the way to the Australian All Schools Swimming Championships and claimed a remarkable National Silver medal for 100m Butterfly. She also followed this up with an incredible 4th place finish in the 200m Individual Medley. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, discipline, commitment and resilience she demonstrates both in training and in competition, and we are incredibly proud of her success.
