Duck hatching program 🥚 🐥 🦆

Bunny Cottage was lucky enough to experience a duck hatching program from Hatch n Grow.

The children witnessed the ducks hatching from their eggs in the incubator, growing up day and day, holding and playing with the ducklings!

In between all this, the children learned about all things ducks through age appropriate learning experiences!

Safe to say this experience was loved by all the children, educators and families! Some were very tempted to take the ducklings home!

Hurstville Community Garden excursion 🪴



Our 3-5 year olds went out into the community for an excursion to the local garden. They learned all about how strawberries, bananas, cucumbers, and beans are grown. They also tasted some fruits. Everyone extended their understanding of nature and our local community.

After the excursion we headed to a local playground for a quick play before heading back to Bunny Cottage!

It is such an amazing opportunity for our children to get out into their local community, learn new things, practice their road safety knowledge and how to be active and responsible citizens in public.

Reverse Garbage incursion ♻️

For recycling week, we had a visit from reverse garbage from Marrickville

They taught us all about recycling, reusing and rethinking about our ‘garbage’. They brought along with them a wide array of recycled materials to help open up our minds, be creative in ways we can reuse different items and create childhood memories. 🥰

Happy Diwali! 🪔

The children had a great time learning all about Diwali and the culture involved. They engaged in sensory play, arts and craft and incorporated learning such as patterning, symmetry, counting, light/dark and more.

We are so lucky to have a multicultural team at Bunny Cottage to provide a more authentic teaching experience for the children ❤️

Our Tiggywinkles babies learning all about spring through different hands on experiences planned by our wonderful educators!

Last week Bunny Cottage signed up for RSPCA Cupcake day to help raise funds for animals in need.

We decided to extend this to one week. Educators made delicious cupcakes and brownies.

Safe to say we SOLD OUT and raised a total of $694 for the RSPCA! Local gyms.. time to contact our generous families as they had lots of sweets! 🧁

Dentist excursion 🦷

Last week the children learned about all things dental for Dental Health week.

To follow up on this, the preschoolers went on an excursion to the Children’s Dentistry in Hurstville.

They listened to Dentist Amelia explain ‘always’ and ‘sometimes’ food, sat in the dentist chair and learned about the different equipment. This helps develop their confidence and familiarity for when they go to the dentist in the future!
