This week (Sunday 5th March) is Clean up Australia Day.
The Purpose of Clean up Australia Day is to ‘inspire children to learn about the impact of rubbish on their local environment while playing an active role in their community.’
Our Juniors took a walk to our local part to help do our bit for the environment and our local community.

On Friday we celebrated International Random Acts of kindness Day. Our Juniors made some cookies which they went out to deliver in the community on Friday. We stopped by our local shop and delivered some cookies to our neighbours. We hope it made their day! 💕

RU OK?
Our Juniors and Seniors have been busy over the last few days making some art work to share with our community. A few of our Juniors went out this morning to post them to our neighbours and give them to our local cafe and Grocer!
We hope it brought them a smile 😊🌻

Book Week: Today we read ‘Room on the Broom’ and then made our own Kindness potions. This promoted discussion on how we can be kind to others and what sort of things make us happy.

We have been exploring music from around the world in our daily music and movement sessions. This week we welcomed Alysson, a member of our community to our centre to share his love and knowledge of Brazilian music. Alysson showed us different types of instruments such as the cavaquinho, the reco-reco and the pandeiro which we all got a turn to play. We enjoyed listening to Alysson play these for us and tell us about his Brazilian culture.
Obrigada Alysson!

We recently welcomed from Josh’s First Nations program to our centre. We listened to the Didgeridoo, Dreamtime stories and learned about Ochre. We made music and moved our bodies like different Australian animals. Thank you so much for visiting our centre! A truly informative and enjoyable exerperience.

We have been exploring different natural resources to celebrate NAIDOC week. We were inspired by ‘How the birds got theirs feathers’ by Mary Albert and made our own bird feeders. We experimented with a range of natural materials to make our very own creations.

We were very excited to welcome our local police officers to visit our centre yesterday. They told us all about the different things they do to keep us safe. The children asked great questions about their uniform and police car whilst they coloured their special sheets brought by the police.
