Help get Stanley to Canada π¦πΊπ¨π¦
Stanley Chung has been selected to represent Australia at the World Junior Squash Championships in Canada.
What sits behind that is years of turning up, putting in the hard work, and continuing to improve β session by session, match by match.
Now he has the opportunity to test himself against the best juniors in the world.
Next step is getting him there!
This is an 11-day campaign on the world stage and like most junior athletes, itβs self-funded. Flights, accommodation, tournament costsβ¦ it all adds up.
So we are asking for a bit of help.
π If you can, support Stanley via the Australian Sports Foundation link below

Every tax deductible contribution goes towards getting Stanley to Canada to represent Australia.
And if donating is not possible, sharing this post and link will help greatly.
Letβs give him the chance to take this opportunity all the way wearing the green and gold.
Help me get to the World Juniors Championships in Canada | Australian Sports Foundation I have been selected in the Australian Junior squash team to compete at the 2026 World Junior Championships in Ontario, Canada from 20-31 July

Huge congratulations to Stanley Chung on his selection to represent Australia in the Menβs World Junior Team π¦πΊ
His selection is a recognition for all the hard work, consistency and determination heβs shown over time, highlighted by strong performances at the Australian Junior Open and Oceania Junior Championships. Stanley's resilience, adaptability and fitness have allowed him to step up against the top players, deliver under pressure, and keep pushing his level higher.
Now ranked No.2 in Australia in U19s, this selection is thoroughly deserved.
Wishing Stanley and the Australian team all the very best at the World Junior Championships in Canada. We will be cheering you all the way!
28/04/2026
Itβs been a week since JETS Squash was at the Australian Junior Open (AJO) and Oceania Junior Championships (OJC) in Melbourne.
14 players from our program competed , over the 8 consecutive days without a rest, with Stanley Chung playing 10 days in a row as part of the successful Trans-Tasman team vs NZ.
Stanley not only produced his best squash ever under extreme duress due to the fatigue associated with 10 days in a row, sometimes with 2 matches a day, but also had success over a player he has never beaten and a player he has never even gotten a game off, beating Henry Kross and pushing Kasper Cheung to 5 games. What was most impressive was Stans resilience under fatigue.
At the end of the 3 events Stan had elevated himself to be the No 2 player in Under 19s in Australia and ensured his place in the Australian Junior team for the World Championships later this year in Canada. Well done Stan the hard work has paid off.
Other notable performances were from our young stars, Nathan and Ruisha. Both made the finals of each event.
Nathan won both and in the AJO shows his class by dominating the event without dropping a game and playing at an amazingly high level of squash for someone so young. His win in the OJC was a much harder run to the title, winning a couple of matches in close 5 sets but finding a way to win when clearly not at his best.
Ruisha was runner up in AJO to a very high quality Malaysian girl but highlighted how good she is by pushing this girl to the limit with a typically tenacious never say die attitude.
The OJC was a rematch from the AJC 2025 and Ruisha dominated the 1st 2 games but then a change came over the match in the 3rd and her opponent started to get on top but again Ruisha was able to execute the coaches game plan in the 4th game and won the title.
Bothe of these youngsters are destined for a very bright future.
Ben Boardman, just turned 13 so moved up to under 15s and was the smallest player in the age group, finished 4th in both events, but did take out the number 1 seed in AJO, so it was good solid performance, so with some growth and added power Ben will be a force over the next few years.
Both Sean and Logan were in under 17s and although not quite ready for the top players in the age group did elevate their games during these events and I think will be big improvers over the coming months. Both have developed their game styles and are now moving the ball around the court with more variations and consistency. Keep at it boys.
Maeghan Wang showed that she is now coping with her emotions better and thus a much more consistent performance across all matches, well done and keep working on it as the next year will be your best.
Niah had moments of excellence, and played some high quality squash, but was little inconsistent at times but has let the other girls know that she is coming, so watch out.
In general most of the players played consistently and close to or better than previous major events and all have learned from the experience. As a coach that is all you want you can ask for.
It was a very tiring 8 days, with approximately 90 matches coached but very enjoyable. Thanks to Mike Dickens and Zoe Shardlow for helping with coaching some of the JETS kids when I wasnβt available.
Well done to all players, coaches, parents and referees as it was not easy without that rest day, a massive performance by all
