A fantastic trial run of Lunch & Learn in The Roo!
In light of everything our community has experienced in recent years, this is our response.
Not withdrawal, but engagement.
Not isolation, but connection.
Not fear, but community.
This week we brought together Jewish professionals from across Barangaroo and the surrounding CBD for a trial Lunch & Learn session at Tower 2, Westpac HQ.
A special thank you to Kelly Benson from Westpac for helping make this initiative possible and serving as our champion on the ground.
Following the success of this pilot, we are excited to officially launch a weekly Thursday Lunch & Learn in Barangaroo, creating another opportunity for Jewish professionals to connect, learn, network and build community.
With the addition of Barangaroo, we now serve all four key districts of Sydney’s CBD:
• Monday: Surry Hills
• Tuesday: Chifley Square & the Financial District
• Wednesday: Central & Hyde Park Precinct
• Thursday: Barangaroo
Wherever you work in the city, there is now a regular opportunity within walking distance to connect with fellow Jewish professionals, engage in meaningful learning, and strengthen community.
Because strong communities are built one relationship, one conversation and one shared experience at a time.

Lunch & Learn in Barangaroo | Professional Pilot Event
We’re pleased to be trialling a new Lunch & Learn initiative for professionals working in and around Barangaroo.
Designed as an opportunity to connect, learn, network and build community over lunch, this pilot event will help determine whether there is sufficient interest to establish an ongoing professional Lunch & Learn series in the precinct.
Attendance is complimentary, however registration is essential as building access, security requirements and catering numbers must be confirmed in advance.
If you’re interested, please register even if your attendance is not yet certain, as participation in this trial event will help shape future programming.

AI won’t replace rabbis.
But it might replace some of the things that stop rabbis from being rabbis.
Less administration.
More people.
Less paperwork.
More community.
Less time behind a screen.
More time changing lives.
That’s a future I’m interested in.

It was an honour and pleasure meeting with discussing some of the difficult tensions emerging around social cohesion and community impact in Australia.
Not every issue has easy quick fix or satisfactory answers, but that’s also the double-edged sword of living in a democratic and beautiful country like Australia. Constructive open conversations still matter.
We appreciated the willingness to engage seriously and thoughtfully on challenges affecting many Australians right now.
Wish Mr Hoenig MP much success in his position!
