Are you finding awake windows difficult to extend?
Extending awake windows to a more age appropriate length of time will only get you so far. It is important to also extend the nap duration!
If you have extended awake windows and found this had no effect on nap length, you need to be patient and understand this is a 2-step process.
There’s a range of causes for short naps and it can be hard to identify the cause when you are in the thick of it.
Need help with short naps? 🙆🏻♀️

I can see why they sound daunting but having seen how effective they are, I believe the benefits definitely outweigh the limitations.

Is cat- napping getting you down?
Cat naps are anxiety provoking and tiring and although short naps are developmentally normal prior to 6 months, this doesn’t mean we can’t extend naps.
Some babies cat nap and manage to sleep well overnight, others have frequent overtired wakes in addition to the short naps.
Whatever your situation, know that there is a way out (if you are unhappy and looking for change).

Tag a Mum of a dummy-lover!
Lucas was a dummy lover…It saved us in the early reflux days and I have zero regrets about giving him one. Although it was a hard 24 hours going cold turkey, It was a very easy fix and it got him sleeping through the night very quickly.
I always wonder if he would know what to do with a dummy if he saw one now. I still zoom past the dummy section of the supermarket…just in case 🤪

If your baby is waking at these times, you should be proud that your baby is adequately rested throughout the day. If you would like to extend the morning wake time, or maybe cut out 1 or both feeds overnight, hopefully this information will point you in the right direction.
