A personnel and materials hoist (HP) is a hoisting system used to lift workers and materials vertically on construction sites at significant heights - Improper operation of the hoist can lead to falls or structural failure which pose severe risks to workers on the ground and those being transported.

Did you know:
🔷 Commonly know as the brand name, Alimak!
🔷 HP Licence only permits the operation of the hoist. Installation, dismantle and/or maintenance must be carried out by a licensed rigger and/ or scaffolder.
🔷 HP Licences include the benefits of a HM (materials hoist) licence. However, if you hold a HM Licence you cannot operate a HP hoist.

To ensure your safety, it’s crucial to have a valid Working at Heights (WAH) certificate!

But I have a certificate and it doesn’t expire.. why am I required to renew my WAH Certificate?

🔷 Technically, your certificate does not expire. However, the rule of thumb is to validate your certificate every two (2) years.
🔷 Renewing your certificate can be impacted by employer policies, worksite rules, changes in regulatory compliance or industry standards and, depending on your industry and/or employer you may require yearly updates!
