Sometimes itโ€™s the little things ๐Ÿ’›
The confidence thatโ€™s quietly growing.
The determination to keep trying.
These are the moments we notice.

Because when children feel seen, they feel valuedโ€ฆAnd thatโ€™s where strong relationships begin.

Our preschool artists stepped into the world of Camille Pissarro as they explored Apple Trees in Blossom.

After carefully observing the painting together, the children shared what they noticed, from blossoming trees and winding pathways to the tiny details hidden throughout the landscape. They then experimented with Pissarro's painting techniques, using layered colours, different brushstrokes and dabbing to create their own unique orchard scenes.

Each artwork reflected the child's individual ideas while strengthening fine motor skills, creative confidence and an appreciation for nature and art. It was wonderful to see every child approach the same inspiration in their own unique way.

Art isn't about creating identical paintings, it's about exploring, experimenting and expressing ideas. We love seeing our little artists build confidence with every brushstroke.

Our nursery children finished Bug Week by becoming little explorers!
Using paintbrushes, they carefully brushed through the grass and soil to uncover hidden insects. As they searched, they strengthened fine motor skills, practised crossing the midline, and built new vocabulary through songs and conversation. Learning is always more meaningful when curiosity leads the way. ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ›

๐ŸFast Fingers, Clever Thinkers ๐Ÿ”ข

Who can fill their board first?

With eyes focused and hands busy, children took on a fast-paced numeracy challenge, matching quantities to numerals using loose parts. As they raced to complete their boards, they were building strong mathematical foundations through hands-on play.

This engaging experience supported children to:
โ€ข Recognise and identify numerals.
โ€ข Develop one-to-one correspondence and counting skills.
โ€ข Compare quantities and make mathematical connections.
โ€ข Strengthen concentration, memory, and visual scanning skills.
โ€ข Build fine motor control and hand-eye coordination.
โ€ข Problem-solve, self-correct, and persevere when challenges arose.
โ€ข Practise patience, turn-taking, and celebrating the achievements of others.

By adding an element of friendly competition, children remained highly engaged while developing confidence as capable and enthusiastic mathematicians. Learning opportunities like these show that mathematics is not just about numbers, it is about thinking, reasoning, communicating, and having fun.
