In the last week we have had some incredible conversations with studio owners and welcomed some amazing new people into the Tribe!
When a student tells us they want to have a career in dance we tell them they need to invest in their training. They need to take more ballet classes, start singing lessons, pay for headshots the list goes on and on.
But sometimes as studio owners we need to remember to take that advice ourselves… to go forward we need to invest in our training as a business owner. We need to be surrounded by others in the “class” to push us and have mentors to inspire us. It’s the quickest way to get ahead in business.

F$%*ing COVID...amiright???
So week one of classes just finished up in our Dance Studio. It's a week that I absolutely love! The excitement and energy of our students coming back for the year...the happy (and sometimes nervous) faces of new students and their parents! Our amazing teachers are bouncing around with energy - ready to amaze their new classes.
However when my 3 year old tested positive to COVID last Thursday...BAM! No week 1 for me! No staff training day and no Open Day. Nath and I were both stuck at home in iso with the Kids!
Now - 5 years ago, if you told me that both Nath and I would be out of action and unable to be there for an entire week it would have been FULL. BLOWN. PANIC. STATIONS 🔥😱😩
But not this week.
I realised there was literally nothing I could do about the situation. And most importantly - that we had the systems in place - and that my amazing team would step up to the plate and CRUSH it this week without me!
These systems didn't pop-up overnight though. And we've been building and training our rockstar team over a number of years now.
We were lucky that our household wasn’t too unwell with the virus, so instead we made the most of it.. enjoyed some extra holiday time with the family, made some big plans for the year and let our staff do what they do best.
Now I’m ready to crush week 2 😍

What an incredible two days of learning, connecting and planning we had at our first ever DPU Tribe Intensive.
We are so inspired by the commitment of these studio owners to step outside their comfort zone with such a open hearts and minds to be part of such an awesome event.
Their studio staff and families are all so lucky to have leaders that are so committed to growth in their business.
