Never Assume A Stranger Online is Trustworthy
Never Provide Any of Your Sensitive Information Online
Never Assume that Someone Who Knows Things About You Is Someone Who Can Be Trusted (scammers can purchase or obtain lists that you may be on e.g from community groups)
Be wary of clicking on links sent to you (make sure they are legitimate)
Don’t share your email address online unless you need to and consider setting up a separate email address just to use for online forms or shopping.

Lock your device
To ensure that your information that you have stored on your device is secure, lock your device. On your computer, use a Password to lock the screen - on mobile devices it is essential to lock the device in case it gets left behind, lost or stolen - the data on the phone can be easily used by hackers to obtain critical information and use that information to steal your identity or access your banking details. To secure your mobile device you can either use a Pin, Fingerprint or Iris (retina) scanning.
