To our OSHC families, we can’t thank you enough for the overwhelming support of our Easter basket donation to Scalabrini Village! 🍫🧺
Some of the residents don’t have any local family, so special celebrations like Easter can be extremely lonely for them. We hope the basket, filled with chocolates and other goodies, as well as the card and decorations made by the children, bring lots of smiles to Scalabrini during this time. 😊🐰🐥
💗 It is so lovely to be a part of such a kind and caring community 💗

Harmony Week: Expressing ourselves through culture 🧡🌏
Our Harmony Week poster reflects the beautiful diversity of cultures at OSHC, with children showcasing their backgrounds through drawing flags.
📖 We also read “I’m Australian Too”, a wonderful book that celebrates the multicultural identity of our nation.

✍️🎶🕺🏽 We have also looked at artistic expression, through drawing, music, and movement.

This week is National Recycling Week. Linking to our term theme of ‘Technology Inspired Play’, we discussed the issue of E-Waste, including what can be done with electronic items when they no longer have a use.

To our families and the wider community, we have a question for you:
📝 Does anyone have scrap/recycled A4 paper at their home or workplace that has no use and could be donated (can have writing on one-side)?
We use this for printing purposes, and for the children to draw, write etc.
♻️ Sustainability is a very important aspect of our service - we would love to continue helping the environment by reducing paper waste!

Did you know that koalas are an endangered species? 🐨
Yesterday it was National Threatened Species Day - an important time to think about Australian native animals and plants that are at risk of extinction.
This week we had a range of activities for the children to learn more about this topic, including guessing competitions, group time videos and discussions, craft and more!
