An update from Jane.

For the last 18 months, Bright Pool Services has represented the Deputy Premier's Office as the interim management team for the historic Peakhurst West Pool Facility, and it is something we won’t forget in a hurry.

What a ride.

Nothing compares to the sixty years of history this community has, but managing this pool for the last 18 months has allowed me to thrive in my business and project management, and aquatic operations.

The gratitude I have for this phase of our business journey can never be overstated. Thank you to our family and friends who have been so supportive during this whole process.

Especially to Peter: none of this happens if not for you.

Building this company with Pete is one of my proudest achievements. The opportunities he creates through his diligence and discipline allow us to grow in so many ways.

To think I went from working as a Teacher's Aide and was finishing a Primary School teaching degree to stepping into such an integral role working for the Office of the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning is mind blowing. It was only possible in the first place thanks to the trusted relationships Pete has built with our commercial clients.

The Peakhurst West Pool holds a significant place in the history books.

The funds to build the pool were raised by the local community and when the school agreed to have the pool on its grounds, the P&C stepped in to bring the pool to fruition. The pool was completed in 1961 and at the time consisted of a 20 yard outdoor pool and changing facilities.

In 1978, a government grant enabled the pool to be heated and enclosed; and in 1990, the pool was extended to the current 25m length.

The stories, the history, the people - it has been profound. I’m walking away with skills, knowledge and experiences that have changed me significantly. Being someone the community could trust was a responsibility I didn’t take lightly.

The pool will be closed for six months while the new operators refurbish the entire facility. When it reopens, Bright Pool Services will maintain the pool and plant room, and keep people swimming and creating memories for decades to come. If you didn't already know, we just want to make beautiful waves together.
