One year ago today, Teatro opened its doors for the very first time.

What started as a dream has become something far greater than we ever imagined. A place where stories are told, artists are celebrated, careers are nurtured, and our community comes together.

In our first 365 days we’ve proudly welcomed:

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Behind every performance has been an extraordinary team of artists, musicians, crew, technicians, creatives, volunteers, staff and supporters who have poured their hearts into making Teatro what it is today. And to every audience member who has walked through our doors, laughed, cried, applauded and believed in what we’re building, thank you.

Creating an independent theatre in today’s world isn’t easy, but this first year has proved just how important spaces like Teatro are. Spaces where artists can create, audiences can connect, and new stories can find a home.

To everyone who has been part of our first chapter, thank you for believing in us.

THEatreBRIDGE Season 6 - July 20 - August 27
A six-week intensive for theatre school graduates and emerging performers, training alongside Australia’s leading directors, choreographers, casting directors and industry professionals.

THEatreBRIDGE: The Residency (Launching 2027)
A nine-month, full-time artist development program for exceptional performers aged 17+, culminating in a fully staged professional production at Teatro.

Both programs are designed with one goal: creating genuine pathways into Australia’s performing arts industry.

Many of our alumni have already gone on to perform in Teatro productions including The Addams Family, The Prom, Tootsie and Bugsy Malone, with more opportunities ahead.
