Growing in Faith and Service ✨

Today, St Mary’s students took part in the Pope Francis Award Program Retreat at the Benedict XVI Retreat Centre, facilitated by Sydney Catholic Schools.

Throughout the day, students were encouraged to reflect on their faith journey, build meaningful connections and deepen their understanding of service to others. The retreat provided a wonderful opportunity to grow in the values at the heart of the Pope Francis Award Program: faith, leadership and community.

We look forward to seeing our students continue to embrace these values as they progress through the program. ✝️

✨ St Mary’s Day 29 May 2026 ✨

Friday, 29 May marked a truly special St Mary’s Day, beginning with Mass at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, led by Main Celebrant Fr Don Richardson, with a moving homily from our College Chaplain and alumnus, Fr Roberto Keryakos.

The day continued with a range of activities filled with laughter, collaboration, and the return of the highly anticipated Cathedral’s Got Talent! Our students impressed with outstanding performances, while Year 12 Instructional Leader Ross Ashdown impressed the audience with a captivating magic performance

St Mary’s Day reminds us of the light of faith entrusted to us and invites reflection on how we carry it forward. Our founders envisioned a place where faith and learning would form young people committed to serving the common good. That vision continues to shine through our classrooms, playgrounds, assemblies, and the everyday acts of kindness across our community.

We extend sincere thanks to everyone who joined us, with special mention of former students Sister Mary Frances, Fr Robert Borg, and Alumni Association Vice President Ivan Greguric. Thank you also to Fr Don Richardson and Fr Roberto Keryakos for leading us in the Eucharist, and to Cathedral Director of Music Mr Daniel Justin and our St Mary's Cathedral Choir for the uplifting music that enriched our celebration.

We acknowledge with gratitude the religious congregations and founders whose faith, vision, and charisms have shaped our College for generations and continue to guide our community today.

As we celebrate our patroness, we are reminded:

"May the example of Mary inspire us to live with humility, to act with courage, and to serve with joy. May St Mary’s Cathedral College continue to be a place where faith, learning, and service meet, and where every member of our community is invited to carry Christ’s light into the world."

🥇 Primary Concert Band set the benchmark early, receiving a Gold Award for their captivating performance of Bruce Pearson’s From Ancient Times.
