In 2023, Josh walked through our doors as a 15 year old high school student looking to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Over the last few years, we’ve watched him grow not only as a grappler, but as a young man. Through school, exams, life, and everything in between, he kept showing up, kept learning, and kept putting in the work.
Last year he graduated high school.
This week, he achieved another major milestone and earned his blue belt 🥋
Blue belts aren’t given. They’re earned through consistency, perseverance, and countless hours on the mats. Josh has done exactly that.
We’re incredibly proud of you, Josh. Congratulations on a well deserved blue belt. This is only the beginning 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported our June ONYX BJJ Grading Night 🥋
A special congratulations to Josh Aloiai and Josh Ceroni on earning their blue belts after stepping up and being tested in front of the academy. Receiving a blue belt is a significant milestone in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a reflection of countless hours of hard work, consistency, and perseverance. Well deserved, gentlemen 👏
Thank you to all of our members, friends, and families who came along to support those grading. The atmosphere and encouragement from our team is what makes ONYX so special.
We hope everyone enjoyed the pizza night that followed 🍕 and had the chance to celebrate the achievements of our members together.

❄️ ONYX WINTER ROYALE ❄️
This winter, we’re challenging our members to stay consistent, stay active, and refuse to hibernate. 🥶
From now until September 1st, the TOP 10 members with the highest attendance will win an exclusive ONYX No Gi rashie + shorts set.
Winter is where motivation drops, mornings get colder, and excuses get louder… but champions are built in the seasons where nobody feels like showing up. ❄️
Use up all your visits, join our free stand up class, stay back for another class, upgrade your membership, stay fit!
This challenge is open to all ONYX members aged 16 and over. Every class attended throughout the challenge period will count toward your total attendance score. The current Top 10 members will be displayed on the whiteboard at reception and updated regularly, so make sure to keep an eye on your progress throughout winter.
Winners will officially be announced on September 1st.
