Congratulations to two of our fabulous Music students who have received nominations for Encore! Sienna for Music 1 on voice and Teagan for Music 2 on voice & trombone. This is an outstanding achievement that recognises their HSC performances as some of the best in the state! We could not be more proud of these two exceptional students and cannot wait to see their musical pursuits post school ⭐

The 2026 Drama Ensemble welcomes you to their production of "Bringing Down The House," written by Todd Wallinger.

The play follows the big dreams of Jules, Sydney, and Elliot. An up-and-coming musical team, they’ve rented a creaky old theatre for six weeks to mount a production of their new show. Top Broadway investors are slated to attend, so the team is going to need every minute to rehearse the musical. To their dismay, they discover that the theatre is scheduled for demolition the very next day, and they don’t have the money to rent another venue! There’s only one thing to do: throw the show together in just two hours and present it to any investors who can make it on such short notice. Come along to see chaos of this show!

The production will be running on Thursday the 22nd of October and Friday the 23rd of October, both at 6:30pm.

Macquarie University Incubator Bootcamp

Last Friday, some of our Year 9 and 10 students headed to the Macquarie University Incubator for a day of creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurship!

Working in teams with students from other schools, they developed ideas, created prototypes and pitched their hypothetical ventures to a judging panel. Students also heard from the founders of So Creative and gained valuable insights into entrepreneurship and innovation. 💡

We are thrilled to celebrate Evelyn, of Year 8, who has been announced as a Finalist in the 2026 Northern Beaches Council Underwater Photography Competition.

Evelyn is a finalist in the Youth Category for her incredible underwater photograph, "Rose Petal Bubble Shell".

Her photograph has also been selected for the People’s Choice Award, giving our Mackellar community the opportunity to show their support!

INCREDIBLE RESULTS IN DRAMA ONCE AGAIN!

We are thrilled to announce that the entire Year 12 Drama class were nominated for inclusion in OnStage for their Group Performances, titled "What Is Your Conspiracy" and "The Cribley Family."

In addition, we also had Tess receive a second nomination for her Individual Performance titled "One Wipe."

OnStage is an annual showcase of exceptional Drama HSC performances and projects from NSW.

We couldn't be prouder of this class and what they have achieved, and are yet to achieve in their futures.

Last week, our Year 8 French students enjoyed learning about music and dance from around the French-speaking world. Group La Faya came to visit, representing Mauritian culture, and also West African. The students played the djembe (West African drums) and danced the Mauritian sega, learning all about the cultural origins of the dance. The fun activities were topped off with a more metropolitan French patisserie.
