📚 Book Week at UMEUS Early Learning… ✨🧸🌿
This week, we stepped into a world of imagination, adventure, and storytelling as we celebrated Book Week! 📖💫
The children had so much fun bringing their favourite storybook characters to life through dress-ups, creative experiences, storytelling, and lots of imaginative play. From familiar favourites to magical new adventures, every book opened the door to wonder, curiosity, and endless possibilities 🌈✨

This week at UMEUS Early Learning… 💤✨

Our little learners came in their favourite pyjamas to celebrate Pyjama Day and support The Pyjama Foundation 💙

Throughout the week, we enjoyed a range of fun learning experiences while talking about kindness, helping others, and the importance of giving back to our community ❤️

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful families, we raised $334—more than triple our fundraising goal, AND double our total from 2025!

Every donation helps support children with learning and brighter futures.

Last week, we had a very special visit from Healthy Harold, who engaged the children in meaningful learning about body boundaries, personal safety, and respecting themselves and others.

Through age-appropriate discussions, stories, and interactive activities, the children explored the importance of understanding that their bodies belong to them, recognising trusted adults, and learning how to communicate their feelings with confidence. These valuable experiences helped support the development of self-awareness, resilience, and respectful relationships in a safe and engaging environment.

At UMEUS Early Learning, we are committed to empowering children with the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices while fostering a strong sense of wellbeing and respect for themselves and those around them.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn important lifelong skills in a fun, memorable, and supportive way. Thank you, Healthy Harold, for another fantastic visit! 🦒💛

This week at UMEUS Early Learning… 🎶🌍🎨

This week, we celebrated World Music Day through a range of engaging experiences centred around the universal language of music! The children explored a variety of musical instruments, discovered different sounds and rhythms, and even created their own instruments using recycled and everyday materials 🎵

As part of our Show and Tell program, some of our children proudly brought in musical instruments that reflected their own cultures and family traditions. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity, learn about music from around the world, and appreciate the unique backgrounds of our learning community 🌏❤️

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, the children also worked collaboratively to create a recycled art wall. Using a collection of recycled materials, they painted, decorated, and transformed everyday items into a colourful collaborative masterpiece while learning about the importance of reusing resources and caring for our environment ♻️🎨

It has been a joyful week filled with creativity, cultural connection, music, and meaningful learning as we celebrated how music can bring people together across the world 🎶✨

This week at UMEUS Early Learning… 🧺🌿☀️

The children celebrated International Picnic Day with a fun excursion to the park! They enjoyed sharing a picnic with their friends, exploring the outdoor environment, and engaging in active play together.

Through the excursion, the children practised social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and working together, while developing an appreciation for nature and the outdoors 🌳🍃

This week at UMEUS Early Learning… 🖤💛❤️

The children engaged in National Reconciliation Week 2026 through meaningful experiences that encouraged respect, understanding, and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

The children explored the importance of reconciliation through stories, discussions, art, and collaborative learning experiences. They learned about caring for Country, the significance of community, and ways we can show respect for First Nations peoples and cultures 🌿

Through creative activities, the children expressed their ideas about belonging, friendship, and inclusion, creating beautiful artworks inspired by the themes of unity and connection 🎨✨

We also enjoyed opportunities to learn about Indigenous symbols, traditions, and storytelling, fostering curiosity and appreciation for the rich histories and cultures that continue to shape our nation 📖🖤💛❤️

It has been a wonderful week of learning, reflection, and coming together as a community, as we continue our journey toward reconciliation ❤️

This week at UMEUS Early Learning…

Our little learners explored fire safety through simple discussions and hands-on activities 🔥

They practiced writing fire-related words in sand, supporting their early literacy skills ✍️ The children also engaged in sensory play using shaving foam, where they mixed red and yellow to explore colour changes 🎨

Dramatic play included setting up a tent and pretend campfire, encouraging imagination and group play ⛺ We also spent time outdoors, with the children using a hose to water the garden and care for our environment 🌱💧

A great week of learning and exploring together ❤️

This week at UMEUS Early Learning…

Our little learners explored the world of healthy eating, discovering how different foods help our bodies grow strong and stay energised 💪🥕🍎 Through hands-on play and discussions, children showed great curiosity about where food comes from — especially farms! 🚜🌾

Their interest in animals also continued to grow, with lots of excitement around both farm and zoo animals. We loved seeing their imaginations come to life through play, storytelling, and creative activities inspired by their favourite animals.

What a joyful week of learning, exploring, and growing together 💚
