This week our children had a unique opportunity to observe a real- life tree cutting taking place in our neighborhood. As we watched the process together, we engaged in rich discussions using open ended questions such as: why do people cut down trees? Even though they are part of nature. How do they cut such large trees safely? Why are there so many road signs and safety measures?
This experience sparked thoughtful conversations and gave the children a chance to connect with their environment, develop their inquiry skills and understand more about the world around them in a meaningful and engaging way.
