🚦 Road Safety Week at Little Emu Academy 🚶‍♀️🚗

This week, children explored road safety through learning about road signs, traffic rules, and safe behaviours. A highlight was our excursion to the pedestrian crossing, where children practised safe crossing and observed real-life traffic.
These experiences help build children’s confidence, awareness, and understanding of how to stay safe in everyday environments. 🚦

🎒 Our Preschool Program Has Officially Begun!

We’re pleased to share that our preschool program is now underway. Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be commencing our weekly excursions to our local school, Emu Heights Public School.

These excursions provide a valuable and enjoyable opportunity for children and families to connect with their local community, build familiarity, and gently prepare for the transition into Kindergarten — starting their school journey right here from preschool at Little Emu Academy.

We look forward to sharing this exciting stage with our preschool families.

🎄 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Little Emu Academy 🎄
We would like to wish all our children and families a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year. Little Emu Academy will be closed for the Christmas holiday break and will reopen on Monday, 5 January.
We hope all our families enjoy a wonderful break together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back—and also meeting our new families joining us in June 2026.
We also hope Santa was safe, gentle, and friendly to all our children today 🎅✨

Book Week – Day 5
For our final day of Book Week, we truly immersed ourselves in the spirit of the stories we love. The Gumnut and Gumleaf Room were bursting with colour, creativity, and excitement as children brought their favourite characters to life through costume and play.

We were thrilled to welcome some of the Flintstones, who brought prehistoric fun and laughter, along with Spot—the beloved little pup from some of our favourite early childhood stories. Adding to the magic was a very special bumblebee, buzzing with joy and wonder, spreading smiles throughout the room.

The children shone with pride as they shared their characters and the stories behind them, sparking beautiful conversations and moments of imaginative play. From roaring dinosaurs to curious explorers, every corner of the room told a different story.

It’s been an incredible week celebrating books, storytelling, and the joy of reading. Watching the children express themselves so creatively and confidently has been a true highlight. We’ve had such a wonderful time and are already looking forward to doing it all again next year—bigger, brighter, and even more magical! 📚✨🧡

Book Week – Day 4
What a truly magical day we had—bursting with imagination, wonder, and pure joy! Day 4 of Book Week transported us to a world where stories came alive and favourite characters stepped right out of the pages and into our school.

The day was filled with creative energy and excitement as students and staff embraced the spirit of storytelling through dress-ups and activities. We were thrilled to see incredible character duos and trios walking through the halls—Moana and Maui made a splash with their oceanic energy, Bingo brought playful charm, Clarence the Cat added a touch of quiet curiosity, and Miss Rachel lit up the room with her warm, educational vibes.
