Introducing our Mentor and Keynote Speaker from Powerhouse Museum, Geoffrey Wyatt 😄

Geoffrey Wyatt is a former teacher and all-round astronomy buff who has worked at Sydney Observatory since the last millennium.

He has written for numerous Japanese magazines, appeared with the media from around the world, delivered dozens of presentations and borrowed a canon. ✍️

His astronomy podcast has been sampled for music clips and he inspired Jul3ia Richard to write a song about NGC5139! He has brought major changes to astronomy education at Sydney Observatory that have literally seen children and their teachers rolling on the floor! 🪐

But what exactly do you do in a HackED hackathon? 🤔

Hackathons, which gave us the Facebook "Like" button 👍, are about learning, creating ideas, building something and then presenting what you have built (to judges AND each other). You will receive constructive feedback from your peers and industry professionals 👩‍🏫🧑‍🏫👨‍🏫
