SELF ESTEEM RECOVERY INSTITUTE is here to guide and educate individuals about the problem and recovery of the injured "SELF";

Unfortunately many people do not have a good understanding of what SELF ESTEEM is and is often confused with confidence, ego, self assurance etc. Actors, comedians and singers, in particular, can seem to glow with assurance 'on stage' and yet off-stage many of them feel desperately insecure. Indeed, individuals can be stunningly attractive and world-famous, and seem poised and perfect – yet still, deep down, find it hard to value themselves. Think of the late Princess Diana, Whitney Huston, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse and Marilyn Monroe and you'll see that public adulation is no guarantee of healthy self-esteem. So, if self-esteem isn't quite the same thing as confidence, what is it? The word esteem comes from a Latin word which means to estimate. So, self-esteem is how you estimate yourself. So what damages our self - esteem or self regard? .....The answer to that is something called TOXIC SHAME.....This group I have set up is to help explore damaged self esteem TOXIC SHAME and tips and encouragement to heal or recover your self esteem.
