Book Week got a little extra magical as our teachers brought “Giraffes can’t dance” by Giles Andreae to life!

With each teacher dressed as a character and Teacher Shwetta narrating the story, there were SOO many giggles as the children watched Gerald find his rhythm and finally discover his beat! 🎵

Yesterday was Educators’ Day, and our hearts were so full.

It was such a beautiful day of receiving love and appreciation, from our families, our fellow educators and our dear Director, Laura. It was also a lovely reminder that what we do goes far beyond a 8-6. It’s the relationships we build, the little moments, the memories , the impact we have every day being part of something bigger.

We are so grateful for our beautiful community and for every person who makes it what it is. Thank you for all the kind words, messages and love. Days like yesterday remind us just how lucky we are to do what we do and to be surrounded by such a beautiful community.

We truly appreciate you more than words can say. Thank you 🤍

🌿 Happy Educators’ Day! 🌿

Today we’re celebrating the incredible educators who give so much of themselves to our children each and every day.

We are so grateful for the care, patience, creativity and warmth they bring to their work everyday— for all the little moments of connection, the encouragement, the messy play, the big hugs, the thoughtful learning experiences and all the things they do behind the scenes that help our children feel safe, valued and truly belong. And in general, being the wonderful people they are.

Our children at Sugarloaf Bay have been exploring some magic of colour mixing, discovering how primary colours can come together to create BEAUTIFUL secondary colours! 🎨

We’ve also been getting hands-on with 3D shapes, using shape cards to recognise, explore and build our understanding of the world around us!

Science Week 2026 Recap!!! 🚀🔭👩‍🔬

This year’s science week theme inspired us to look closely at the world around us and ask the big question: “WHAT IF?”

Our children have been busy putting on their scientist hats and exploring all things science from glass, light and the world around us to space, chemical reactions and so much more!

We’ve also followed the children’s Term 3 voices and interests, allowing their questions and wonderings to guide our investigations! Every question became an opportunity to experiment, predict, observe and discover!

A couple of weeks ago, we officially opened our doors to the Castlecrag community!…and what a success it was! 💛 It was so lovely meeting so many wonderful local families, friends and members of the community and sharing our vision for Sugarloaf Bay Preschool.

We were also so honoured to welcome Tim James MP who joined us to celebrate and welcome us into the community!

A very special thank you to the congregation from St James Anglican and Willoughby Park Anglican for generously preparing the most delicious pastry treats, and to Armenian Evangelical for their warm welcome and support!

It truly was a day filled with community, connection, partnerships and FUN! ⭐️

As we begin Term 3, our focus is Becoming: Our Ideas & Discoveries 🌱💭

This term’s learning journey was sparked by the children’s curiosity! At the end of the school holidays, we invited our children to share what they would like to learn, explore and discover. Their ideas, interests and voices help shape our curriculum, creating meaningful experiences that nurture a love of learning.

From exciting investigations to hands-on play, we can’t wait to see where their imaginations and discoveries take us this term! There is SOO much more learning & fun ahead…we’re only just getting started!!
