On Sunday, our Combined Concert Band performed as part of the Greater Western Sydney Music Festival.
We are SO proud of our students and the way they represented our school throughout the day. The band performed three pieces before participating in a workshop led by one of the festival adjudicators.
We were particularly impressed by the way our students listened to feedback, worked together and applied new ideas to further improve their performance. Their positive attitude, teamwork and musicianship were on display throughout the entire event.
All of our band students should be incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment and dedication they put into preparing for this performance. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement!

Today we had the Relieving Director of Educational Leadership Mr Doidge come to our school to talk with Mr Smith, Mrs Prudames and Mrs Hagar about attendance, staff development day and wellbeing. He also had the pleasure of visiting KW and watching a section of their morning literacy session. Mr Doidge was very impressed with all the wonderful things happening at Parklea.

Our EAL/D (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) teachers and students have been very busy working in their small groups to improve their English language and writing skills. Our students have been working hard and making pleasing gains with their language, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation. Well done....keep up the great work!!

📚 We’re excited to share the success of our Peer Reading Program! Students have been supporting each other to improve their reading skills, build confidence, and foster a love of books. Seeing friendships grow and literacy skills soar has made this initiative such a rewarding experience.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and enthusiastic student mentors for making this program possible! We’re proud of what our school community is achieving. Supporting each other, learning together!

Last week Emily represented the Ridges Girls' Soccer Team in the Sydney West soccer tournament. Ridges came away from the competition in 2nd place, just falling short, 1-0 in the Grand Final.

Emily was also selected in the Sydney West Girls Soccer Side to play at the NSWPSSA - Primary Football (Soccer) - Girls - Championship on the Central Coast later this year.
Well done Emily! We’re all proud of you!

This book had no pictures, not one in sight,
Just words on the pages from left to right.
We thought it looked boring, so what could we do?
We grabbed our paints and our paintbrushes too!
We created artworks that added some cheer,
Bringing the story to life page by page here.
With colours so bright and imaginations free,
We made the book as fun as it could be!
Now when we read it, we smile with delight,
Because our pictures have made the story just right!

🥁 Our Percussion Ensemble wowed us with their incredible skills at last Friday's assemblies!
This week, the group submitted their audition for the Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and dedication. We wish them all the very best with their audition!
We hope you enjoy their performance of Big Earth Toms. 🎶✨
