🌟 Year 6 Visit to NSW Parliament House! 🏛️
Our Year 6 students enjoyed an inspiring afternoon at NSW Parliament House, bringing their History learning to life!
They explored the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council chambers, discovered how laws are debated and passed, and gained a deeper understanding of Australia’s democratic processes. Our students showed great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and learned about the important roles of our elected representatives.
What a fantastic way to conclude their unit on Federation and see democracy in action! 🇦🇺✨

Our Year 6 students spent a powerful and insightful day at the Australian Museum, deepening their understanding of First Nations Peoples, their cultures, histories and enduring connection to Country. 🖤💛❤️

Through interactive exhibits and storytelling, students explored stories of resilience and tradition, discovering how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge continues to shape our nation today.

They also had the wonderful opportunity to learn traditional weaving techniques and put their new skills into practice by creating their very own bracelets! 🧶✨

Today, on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we celebrate Mary’s birth. On this special day, we were proud to bless and dedicate our beautiful new mural of Mary, a gift of gratitude and a lasting reminder of her presence in our lives and the significant role she plays in our St Mary’s community. 🙏

Standing proudly at the front of our school, this mural holds something very special beneath its paint - the names of every student and staff member at St Mary’s. Though they can no longer be seen, they will forever be embedded within this artwork and within the story of our school. The qualities embodied by Mary are woven through the design. This mural is a reminder of our charism and our connection with each other.

Wherever your journey may lead you after St Mary’s, may this mural remind you that you will always be part of our story and called to be a witness of Mary in our world today. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to our talented artist Danny Mulyono for creating such a meaningful and beautiful artwork that will welcome, inspire and watch over our St Mary’s community for many years to come. ✨
