Some wonderful news to share with our school community 🎉💛
Zara competed at the 2026 Tamworth Country Capital Cup in Level 4 National Gymnastics 🤸‍♀️🏆, competing among 176 athletes 🌟. She achieved 4th on Vault, 4th on Bars, a PB 9.350 on Floor 🙌 and 4th overall in her division 🏅👏.
We’re incredibly proud of her dedication and success 💖. Well done Zara! You are a superstar! 🌟🌟🌟

That’s a wrap!
We ended our 2026 SCS Eisteddfod season on a high with our Year 6 Drama groups taking to the stage last Thursday. For many, it was their first time performing in this kind of arena — and they rose to the occasion brilliantly. Their characterisation, confidence and enthusiasm were unmistakable, earning outstanding results across all groups:

Small Groups — Waiting Room of Doom (3rd), NRL: The Ultimate Rivalry (2nd), Lost and Found (1st), Mystery in Room 13 (3rd)

Large Groups — Space Camp (Highly Commended), The Great Chore Escape (2nd)

Mater Dei Award — Recipient of the Enchanted Sponsor Award, including a gift certificate for an in‑school Drama Workshop

A big congratulations to all performers for representing Mater Dei with such joy and creativity. Thank you also to our dedicated teachers — Mrs Barr, Mrs Belarra, Mrs Thomas and Miss Townsend — for their guidance and coordination throughout the season.

Most importantly, we are incredibly proud of every child who stepped onto the Eisteddfod stage. While the awards are wonderful, the greatest reward has been seeing each student’s growth, happiness and pure delight in performing.

We look forward to sharing more of this magic with families at the Ensemble Showcase later this term.
