In mathematics, problem solving skills are important. Students need to follow a logical and systematic approach when they solve mathematical problems.

Understanding the Problem:
- Read the problem carefully
- Ask internal questions to understand the problem. For example: ‘What is the question asking me to do?’
- Select information that you know and decide what needs to be discovered.
- Sketch the problem as it helps in understanding.

There are several skills that you must develop in order to take notes successfully and succinctly.
Key words are the words that contain the most important information relevant to the paragraph, chapter or even book. By highlighting the most important facts on which you should be focusing, key words help you rewrite the given information into your own words.

To identify key words consider the following:
Who - who is the information about?
- Why - why did they do what they did?
- Where - where did the event take place?
- When - when did everything happen?
- What - what actually happened?
- How - how did they do it?

So, when note taking remember to:
A. Read your information
B. Highlight the key words
C. Determine what the main idea of the paragraph or chapter is
D. Use the key words to rewrite the information in your own words.

Summarise the main points. The act of summarising is important because it helps you express ideas in your own words. By summarising, you are, in effort, making shorter and simpler explanations of the given information. Remember to keep your summary short and precise.

When summarising, keep these things in mind:
A. What was the main idea?
B. What were some of the key words used by the author?
C. Are there any examples you would like to use to help illustrate the idea?

Sometimes also drawing simple diagrams or graphs can help you remember things better. They can help to make concepts clearer and easier to understand.

A timetable that is not planned well will usually be a failure. The following can be considered when you plan your study timetable so that you can adhere to it.

- Break it into 30 minute time slots so that you can achieve realistic goals.

- Be realistic about your life. Do not try to pack too many activities into your timetable. Allow some time to relax when you get home from school and try to include regular breaks in your schedule.

- Make sure you include your sports, hobbies, chores and other family commitments in your timetable.

Pin your timetable up in a central location in your home, maybe in your bedroom, above your desk or on the fridge. Try making it your goal this week to follow your timetable as closely as possible.

As the world and the nation responds to unprecedented challenges in public health, the well-being of our students in our CS Education campuses becomes of ever-increasing importance.

CS Education campuses intend to follow the government instructions and advice. We have not experienced any Coronavirus cases at all up to the present moment.

We have instructed all campuses to enforce the social distancing policy. Even through a school institution, we would like to regulate the new rules of social distancing in our campus facilities, including our staff.

However, we believe that we need to be proactive to ensure that it will remain this way. We have been carefully monitoring the situation and keeping close communication with educational authorities and principals etc.

We are also aware of the health concerns of many parents, regarding their children’s welfare in the present scenario. We have had numerous requests from parents to move from offline lessons to online learning.

It is important to set goals in life. Goal setting can put things into perspective, whilst helping determine a purpose in life. It is similar to planning a journey in advance so that the destination is reached on time.

Before setting any goals, long-term or short term, it is crucial to understand one’s ability because everybody is different. Capabilities differ from person to person and everyone has his or her own unique skills and talents.

It is essential to set specific goals rather than broad and vague ideas about what one wishes to achieve.

When setting goals, keep abilities in mind and be realistic about what you can and cannot achieve.
In real life obstacles may prevent one from reaching one’s daily goals. Obstacles such as homework, bad weather, family commitments or even injury can prevent a goal from being achieved. So be aware of any obstacles that may come along and try to set your goals around them.

There are three categories of goal setting:

- Short-term goals - These are goals along the way that help you reach what you wish to achieve in the long-term.

- Long-term goals - These goals are what you want to achieve in the future, usually over your whole lifespan.

- Immediate goals - These are goals that you have now that will help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals

Remember that your goals should be reviewed regularly. If you find that you are not achieving your goals, maybe they are too unrealistic. Or maybe you have some obstacles that you need to attend to first. Reward yourself whenever you achieve your set goal. Acknowledge the fact that you have achieved something and consider your next goal.
