Throughout last week, our College community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week, with a diverse range of activities available for both students and staff.

Everyone had the opportunity to create Aboriginal artworks, compete in a Marngrook pass the ball competition, and try pancakes served with Indigenous jams, before the celebrations concluded on Friday with traditional dancing in the Piazza.

We were incredibly privileged to welcome Aunty Emma and her daughter Coral to the College. They greeted everyone in language with "Yarma" (meaning “hello”) and extended a traditional sign of welcome by offering to paint the back of each person's hand with ochre.

Together, The Amaroo and Dulkara Student Leaders held a Mid-Year Mental Reset to help everyone through the last week of term.
The initiative was a way for students and staff to gather, unwind and have fun during lunchtimes through activities including cultural dance, teachers vs students volleyball matches and yoga. Throughout the week, students were invited to write affirmations and stick them on a board to promote wellbeing and positivity.

We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful break these school holidays!

Over the last few weeks of term, Year 8 History students have been exploring their creative side by designing and constructing their very own medieval castles! These impressive final projects highlight the extensive research and meticulous detail the students invested in their work. Amazing!
