We are incredibly proud of Canaan, one of our Year 6 students and School Leaders, for his outstanding achievement at the MacKillop Athletics Trials. Competing against some of the best young athletes across Sydney, Canaan soared to equal first place in the high jump, clearing an extraordinary height and earning selection to represent MacKillop at the NSW State Athletics Championships next term. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a truly historic moment for St Joseph’s, as no student from our school has ever progressed this far in athletics competition.
What makes Canaan’s success even more impressive is that he does not compete outside of school, highlighting his exceptional natural talent, determination, and commitment. As a respected School Leader, Canaan consistently demonstrates dedication and perseverance, and these qualities have certainly shone through in his sporting achievements. We congratulate Canaan on this incredible success and wish him every blessing and success as he takes on the best athletes in New South Wales at the State Championships. He has already made our school community immensely proud.
