The Hairpin Banksia, or Banksia spinulosa, like most Banksia species, flowers during the cooler months of the year. In the morning, after rain, all sorts of birds and insects can be seen enjoying the nectar produced by the flowers. The nectar can be used to sweeten water, making a delicious and energising beverage. Want to find out more about the fauna in your school's area?
