Although the aim of any artwork is the picture on the right, it is important to allow children to express themselves through art on a fundamental level. Creating art allows children to work through feelings and emotions, and referring to a finished piece of artwork that they created helps a child talk about feelings in a new and meaningful way. Here at Little Land we focus on further refining our children’s skills! 🖼

To all the graduate families of 2021, we would like to thank you for entrusting us with your little ones and allowing us the opportunity to contribute to their growth and development. It has been a pleasure watching them blossom over the last year and we are sad to see them go! Happy graduation 👨🎓🥇👩🎓 🖤
This week, Little Land has been celebrating National recycling week! National recycling week established by Planet Ark in 1996 is held every year during the second week of November. The campaign aims to help you reduce your waste and recycle right. This week we have planned tons of experiences to help broaden our children’s knowledge on this event through sensory play, recycle sorting, colouring, reading books about recycling, including it in our group times and much more. ♻️
This afternoon during outdoor play, the children took interest in our garden. Miss Briana and Miss Joshika were able to show the children our carrots and parsley that grew from our garden. We also have blueberries that will soon be ready to eat. The children happily took turns in cutting our parsley and picked our carrots out from the ground. Educators then sent some parsley home to families and the children are excited to eat our carrots throughout the week.
National Pyjama Day is on 23rd July! The day is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJ's to help raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care. This week, the children enjoyed coming to school dressed in their favourite pyjamas & were very excited to show their peers!
Meet our newest member of Little land, our female betta fish. The children have named her bubbles. To further extend on our animals topic, this week The Wonderers are learning about sea creatures. The children will now learn how to feed and look after bubbles. Families will also be involved in looking after our fish & teaching the children about their lifestyle. We look forward to looking after our newest member!
As the children have been learning about transport, we have linked road safety to this topic. Today, The Wonderers gathered outdoors to learn about traffic lights and what each light means. Miss Briana was able to discuss each traffic light colour to the children. The children were then able to take turns in riding their bike, watching the traffic lights, stopping at red, slowing down on orange and continuing to ride on green.
Today, Little Land celebrated Mother’s Day for all our beautiful mother’s at the centre. We hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend!

This month, The Wonderers have started a new topic called ‘Transport’. Throughout the month, the children will participate in a variety of fun, learning experiences and will learn about all the different transports around the world and what they are used for. This topic will also links to road safety as educators will discuss and teach the children about how to be safe when on the road, walking or in the car. Below are a few activities the children have participated this week. The children will further enhance on their transportation recognition, fine motor, sensory and gross motor skills.
Today, The Adventurers further extended on their Sustainability topic. The children participated in a nature painting experience where they were able to paint with leaves, bark and sticks. This experience further enhanced on the children’s sensory & fine motor skills and allowed them to connect to the nature environment around them.
Today, The Wonderers had an outdoor day. The children participated in a variety of fun, learning, fine & gross motor experiences throughout the day. The children enjoyed engaging with one another, getting some fresh air, being outdoors & getting some Vitamin D.
Today, Little Land rehearsed a fire evacuation drill. We pretended that the fire was in the kitchen and all rooms headed to their evacuation safety point. The children were guided and informed on what is happening throughout the drill. Educators taught and discussed with the children what we do when there is a fire and where we go. This will also teach the children about safety and the precautions we must take when there is a fire.
