Ayeye Akerte – About the Story (Spanish language launch of Arlhekenhe Angentye/Women’s Talk Collection)

Join us next Saturday, 5–6.30pm at Gap View Hotel for a special feature event of the Red Dirt Poetry Festival, acknowledging the poets from Running Water Community Press and including a tribute to those who have passed from the Arlhekenhe Angentye/Women’s Talk Collection, supported by Akeyulerre.

From Arrernte and English to Spanish – the poetry created in the famous collection has been translated into Spanish thanks to the Instituto Cervantes de Sydney. Join us for a sunset event featuring a smoking ceremony, Arrernte Cultural dancers, traditional flamenco guitar dancing and of course, poetry.

La Biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes Sídney fue el escenario de la edición de Sídney del Infrastructure Forum 2026, organizado por La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce, un encuentro que reunió a profesionales y representantes de los sectores público y privado de Australia y España para hablar sobre el futuro de las infraestructuras.

A lo largo de la jornada, expertos de ambos países compartieron perspectivas sobre los retos y oportunidades que marcarán el desarrollo de los sistemas de transporte, agua y movilidad en Australia durante la próxima década, poniendo en valor la experiencia, la innovación y la colaboración internacional.

Desde el Instituto Cervantes Sídney nos alegra que nuestra Biblioteca pueda ser también un lugar donde surjan nuevas conexiones, se compartan conocimientos y se construyan puentes entre España y Australia 🇪🇸🇦🇺




📚 Our Library, a space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas
The Instituto Cervantes Sydney Library was the setting for the Sydney edition of the Infrastructure Forum 2026, organised by La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce. The event brought together professionals and representatives from Australia’s and Spain’s public and private sectors to discuss the future of infrastructure.

Throughout the day, experts from both countries shared perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that will shape the development of Australia’s transport, water and mobility systems over the next decade, highlighting the value of experience, innovation and international collaboration.

At Instituto Cervantes Sydney, we are delighted that our Library can also be a place where new connections emerge, knowledge is shared, and bridges are built between Spain and Australia 🇪🇸🇦🇺
