We talk a lot about wanting to be seen.

More followers.
More people hearing your message.
More opportunities.
More visibility.

But we don’t talk enough about the capacity required to actually hold it.

When I went viral for the first time, some of the comments felt incredibly personal.

My friends and family were protective of me.
People were checking whether I was okay.
And even when logically I knew I was safe, it was still a LOT for my body to process.

Because visibility doesn’t just mean more people loving what you do.

It means more people having an opinion about you.

And the bigger the visibility gets, the more capacity you need to stay grounded in who you are without allowing thousands of strangers to define you.

That’s the part of “being seen” we don’t talk about enough.

It’s not just having the courage to step into the light.

It’s learning how to stay connected to yourself once you’re there.

🎧 I talk about this — including my own experience of going viral — in the latest episode of Unapologetically Wild: “The Power Of Being Seen.”

Being seen isn’t always empowering in the moment.

Sometimes it fu***ng hurts.

I know what it feels like to put something out into the world and suddenly have thousands of people forming opinions about you.

I cried.

I wanted to hide.

I didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything.

My whole system basically wanted me to disappear.

And then eventually I had a choice.

Let that experience teach me that being seen wasn’t safe…

Or take my power back.

So I showed up again.

Not because suddenly I didn’t care what anyone thought.

Not because the first experience hadn’t hurt.

But because I didn’t want other people’s opinions deciding how visible I was allowed to be.

And THAT has probably been one of the biggest lessons for me around being seen.

Courage isn’t always being completely unaffected by what happens.

Sometimes courage is being affected by it…

and choosing to show up again anyway.

What if you stopped waiting to become the perfect version of yourself before you allowed yourself to be seen?

Perfectly confident.
Perfectly healed.
Perfectly articulate.
Perfectly put together.
Perfectly fu***ng ready.

Because that version of you might never arrive.

And maybe she doesn’t need to.

There is something incredibly powerful about watching a woman take the perfection mask off and say:

F**k it. I’m doing it anyway.

Showing up before she has all the answers.

Walking into the room even though she’s nervous.

Sharing the thing even though someone might disagree.

Letting herself be seen as a whole human being instead of presenting the carefully edited version she thinks everyone will approve of.

That doesn’t make her less powerful.

It makes her real.

And I think we need more women willing to be seen like that.

Not because they’ve finally become fearless.

But because they’ve decided fear, judgement and imperfection don’t get to make their decisions anymore.

Maybe the question isn’t:

“Why am I not there yet?”

Maybe it’s:

“What evidence do I have that I’m becoming the woman who can hold where I’m going?”

Because when you’re ambitious, it’s incredibly easy to keep moving the goalposts.

You achieve the thing.
You survive the season.
You make the hard decision.
You set the boundary.
You handle something differently than you would have six months ago.

And instead of stopping to recognise any of it, your brain goes…

Cool. But what’s next?

Meanwhile, the version of you from six months ago might be fu***ng amazed by what you now consider normal.

Your progress isn’t only the external result.

Sometimes it’s how quickly you recover.
How differently you respond.
What you no longer tolerate.
The support you’re willing to ask for.
The risks you’re willing to take.
The way you trust yourself now.

So here’s your challenge:

What are THREE pieces of evidence from the last six months that prove you’re becoming the woman who can hold where you’re going?

Actually write them down.

And if you’re willing, drop one below. 👇

You’re allowed to want the bigger life.

More money.
An incredible relationship.
A business that lights you the f**k up.
A career you’re proud of.
More freedom.
More adventure.
More impact.
More joy.

And your version of “more” doesn’t need to look anything like mine.

Maybe you want to speak on stages around the world.

Maybe you want a beautiful little business with clients you adore and enough money to live exactly how you want.

Maybe you want the relationship, the family, the house, the travel.

Maybe you don’t want any of those things.

That’s the point.

It gets to be your dream.

I think sometimes we become so focused on being grateful for what we already have that we almost make ourselves wrong for wanting something bigger.

But you can deeply appreciate your life now and still want more from it.

Want the fu***ng dream.

And then become the woman capable of holding it.

Someone asked me recently:

“Are you proud of how far you’ve come?”

And it made me realise how rarely we actually stop and ask ourselves that.

Because when you’re ambitious, you’re usually comparing yourself to the woman you haven’t become yet.

The income you haven’t reached.
The business you haven’t built.
The relationship you don’t have yet.
The strength you haven’t gained.
The life you’re still creating.

And if that is always your measuring stick?

Of course you feel behind.

Turn around.

Look at the woman you were six months ago.
Three years ago.

Look at what she was scared of.
What she tolerated.
What she didn’t know how to handle yet.
What she desperately wanted that you barely even think about now.

There’s your evidence.

You don’t have to stop wanting more.

But maybe you need to stop measuring your progress exclusively against a future that keeps moving every time you grow.

Would the version of you from a year ago be proud of the woman you are today?

We spend so much of our lives trying to avoid the uncomfortable emotions.

The grief.
The disappointment.
The uncertainty.
The seasons where things just feel fu***ng hard.

But there’s a duality to being human.

Sometimes it’s because we’ve known the depths that we’re able to recognise the heights when they arrive.

The ordinary morning that suddenly feels beautiful.
The moment you realise you’re genuinely happy.
The laugh that catches you off guard.
The thing you once prayed for becoming your normal life.

Joy doesn’t require a perfect life.

And maybe part of experiencing more of it is allowing ourselves to actually experience the full spectrum of being human instead of constantly trying to escape the parts that don’t feel good.

I don’t think most high-performing women need another lesson in discipline.

I’ve spent years around incredibly disciplined people.

And what I keep noticing is that discipline isn’t always the problem.

A woman can meet the deadline.

Show up for work.

Look after everyone else.

Keep the house moving.

Do what needs to be done.

And still make the things that matter to her negotiable.

I’ve been watching this play out in tiny ways inside Lead Your Life.

A woman saying no to something she would normally rearrange her life to accommodate — and feeling both empowered and guilty.

Another finally sending a message she’d been putting off.

One consciously putting her phone away so she could actually be with her son.

Another choosing rest when her usual instinct was to keep going.

Someone putting herself out there so clients could actually find her.

None of these are massive, dramatic transformations.

That’s exactly the point.

Self-leadership is often built in the decisions nobody applauds.

The little moment where you stop automatically abandoning what you need.

The decision you make even though it’s uncomfortable.

The promise to yourself you actually keep.

So no, I don’t think the answer is always more discipline.

Sometimes it’s learning to turn some of the discipline you already have back toward yourself.

And I think that changes a lot.
