ANOTHER GREAT ACTIVITY SHARED TO START 2021.
WORD EXPLOSIONS!
This is a great way to revisit and revise the THRASSCHART. This activity requires phonemic awareness, understanding synthesis (sounding out words) checks phonics knowledge and much more. A Great class or homework activity.

" I gave out a THRASS word with the picture (from the resources on the web page) to each child which they had to 'explode'. They had to underline each phoneme-grapheme correspondence and the key grapheme was to be highlighted, blue for consonants and red for vowels. Each word was only to be used once. We then listed consonant key grapheme words and vowel key grapheme words. This was a great spelling and writing activity.
