The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus takes place on the third Friday after Pentecost.
At Mass Fr Michael encouraged us to imagine a door to our heart being opened and inviting God’s love for us to grow in our hearts. As the gifts of bread and wine were brought to the altar at the offertory, we too bring the gifts of ourselves to our Eucharist.
Many thanks to Mr Terry Behen who invited us to participate in the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal and accepted a hamper to be shared with a family in need.
Our Winter Sleep Out will be held on 26 June - get your PJs ready!

Healthy Harold Visits St Declan's!🦒
As part of Wellbeing Week, we were excited to welcome Healthy Harold and the Life Education team to our school! 🌟
Every class had the opportunity to participate in engaging and interactive sessions that explored important topics such as making healthy choices, building positive relationships, managing emotions, and developing strategies to support wellbeing.
Students thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Life Education van, learning alongside Healthy Harold, and taking part in activities that encouraged them to reflect on their physical, social, and emotional health.
A big thank you to the Life Education team for helping our students develop the knowledge and skills they need to make positive choices and thrive both at school and beyond. 💙💛

A beautiful morning spent praying the Rosary by the water at Elouera Surf Club with women from across the St George Network and beyond. 🌊🙏

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special gathering, bringing together women from eight schools through the wonderful collaboration of our Family Educators.

A special thank you to Marguerite from Mater Dei Blakehurst for sharing her heartfelt reflection on the Rosary and the personal role it has played in her faith journey.

There was something truly peaceful about gathering by the water to pray together, away from the busyness of daily life, united in faith, friendship, and trust in Our Lady's care. 💙

On Monday, six of our senior leaders represented our community at the Mary Help of Christians Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral. Presided by Bishop Tony Percy this gathering brought Catholic Primary School students and staff together in prayer. This Patronal Feast Day is an important one for our country and our prayers for the St Declan’s community were assured.

Some of our Social Justice students spent a beautiful morning at Georges Estate today, joining the residents for Mass and sharing a conversation and many smiles. They also presented the residents with the handmade gifts they created in the lead‑up to the visit. We’re so proud of their kindness and the way they lived out our values today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm and connected celebration across generations.

Across Sydney Catholic Schools, young artists are telling powerful stories through portraiture. The 2026 SCS Portrait Prize attracted 725 student submissions, with 93 artworks from 40 schools selected for exhibition.

Each portrait captures not just a face, but the connection and story behind someone important in the artist’s life. Now in its fifth year, the Portrait Prize continues to nurture creativity and artistic growth among students from Kindergarten to Year 12, encouraging them to develop both their technical skills and emotional insight.

Congratulations to our award winners and to every student who participated. Read more and explore the full gallery here: https://ow.ly/2fhV50YQTgz
