Another amazing meal at Fuel by Night with our friend Kes visiting from Melbourne.
This snapper with ginger and finger lime was a standout.

One of my favourites from the Wynne Prize at Art Gallery NSW. Japanese style painting on an energy drink can.
š„ Turn the sound on for this one. The sound of kids discovering food can be fun.
This is what happens when food becomes a fun experiment - not a lecture, not a rule, not another thing children are told they āshouldā eat.
You wouldn't believe that before the hall erupts into these sounds, there are usually plenty of groansā¦
āEwww, that looks like snot!ā
āThat looks like vomit!ā
āThat looks like my baby brotherās poo!ā š
And thatās exactly why we do it.
This experiment is about helping children learn to taste with their tongue, not their eyes. It gently challenges the automatic āyuckā response and turns food into curiosity, confidence and fun.
Because when food becomes a fun experiment, children begin to understand their bodies in a whole new way.
Through The Mad Food Science⢠Incursion, we empower children, parents and teachers to explore the connection between food, mood, learning and behaviour ā without judgement, pressure or food policing.
If youād love your school community to experience this kind of hands-on, lightbulb-learning moment, please reach out.

Back to school tomorrow - do you feel prepared? Are you already dreading lunchboxes?
Youāre not alone. Most parents I speak to feel stuck between:
⢠running out of ideas
⢠kids not eating whatās packed
⢠trying to āmake it healthyā
⢠and just getting through the week
Hereās the shift that changes everything:
Instead of saying āthis is healthyāā¦help kids understand why food matters
GO ā” GROW š± GLOW āØ
Iāve shared a simple, realistic approach to lunchboxes (that actually works in real life) in my latest article š Link in bio
š And if you want ongoing support, tips and ideas ā make sure youāre on my newsletter or even better introduce me to your school and I can teach your kids all about food to make life easier for you at home - yay!

Greek natural yoghurt vs Greek style yoghurt
Whatās the difference and which is a good choice for your family. Here are my picks and the ones my boys like.
Plain, natural yoghurt is a great staple on the nutrition front with no added sugar, add a spoonful of flavoured yoghurt if you like or some fruit or honey if you prefer that sweetness š

For over a decade, weāve been empowering students, parents, caregivers and teachers to taste with their tongue not their eyes!
And our signature Mad Food Science Green Smoothie never fails to win most people over. Thereās always a line up of kids wanting seconds, thirds and even sometimes fifths
Weāve lost track of how many parents have told us that their child who has never eaten anything green has gone home asking for it at home. Thatās why we provide a handout to go home so they can continue the conversations and make the smoothie at home.
Check out these stats:
⢠served over 72,000 green smoothies
⢠made over 3,500 litres of green smoothie
⢠used over 10,800 Aussie Bananas
The Mad Food Science incursion is at the heart of our award winning and university evaluated Making Friends with Food school partnership.
In the incursion, students also learn about eating a rainbow of vegetable and fruit, why itās important to tune in and listen to their body and ask whatās in my food, as well as learning about the connection between food and our amazing planet.
If youād like your school to host The Mad Food Science Incursion, send me a DM and Iāll have a chat about the next steps.
Thanks for standing with us for childrenās heath š

Ahh coffee on the deck in the sunshine āļø
The perfect start to the day after a lovely family weekend camping
Most of us already get enough protein from a balanced diet, so do we and our kids really need to be adding these high-protein foods?
Iāve broken it all down in a full article.
